Yikes! The CDC has quietly scaled back its FoodNet surveillance, now only tracking salmonella and STEC.

Monitoring for Listeria, Campylobacter, Vibrio and other pathogens has stopped- even after last year’s deadly Listeria outbreak. buff.ly/OyTTIOA

The White House is sidestepping Congress and halting up to $15 billion in NIH research funding, which would have gone to study diabetes, cancer & more.

The order was issued through a four-sentence email sent to NIH directors from Office of Management & Budget Director Russell Vought.

If you wanna check in on the nation's cancer researchers, we're doin' bad. Real bad. No single post/article fully captures the depth and breadth of it.
We may be the first to feel this, but every single person in the country will feel it eventually.
Cancer. Does. Not. Discriminate.

At least wear a mask when you’re visiting the dying person with stage 4 cancer in the hospital. Is that too much to ask?

More rage fuel today: learned my group can't move on a meeting w NCI to discuss a new trial for #lobular breast cancer; per NCI staff "we are not allowed to discuss new projects under the current executive orders."

Louisiana forbids public health workers from promoting COVID, flu and mpox shots An NPR investigation found Louisiana health officials told staff to stop promoting vaccines for COVID, flu and mpox, holding flu shot events or otherwise encouraging the public to get those vaccines.

Trump administration to fire thousands at health agencies The Trump administration is set to eliminate thousands of federal health care jobs Friday, targeting employees across agencies who were hired in the past one to two years.

"Senior officials were informed [this] morning that ~5,200 recent hires across the #NIH & #CDC will be fired, per sources. CDC leadership was told they'd lose ~1,300 workers. NIH losses are not as clear." #MedSky #CanSky

Had my first cellulitis incident this week in the arm where I had 24 lymph nodes removed. Intense pain came on suddenly, my entire arm turned bright red and within a couple of hours a high fever, along with full body violent chills. Thank the stars for antibiotics. I’m on the mend. ❤️‍🩹 #thankscancer

Cancer fundraiser for almost 20 years here - this is just wrong. Before they get to patients, drugs, treatments and surveillance modalities need to go through trials, which are 100% dependent on NIH funding and support. This is like turning out the power at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Right now the cancer research being cancelled or delayed might be the cure you or your beloved family member ends up needing in a few years.

He is signing cancer patient's death warrants with this bizarre act of cruelty.
