P: like a really dense dark chocolate cake, nutmeg, ginger, raisin.

actually its a lot like a Riesen chcolate chew

N: a bit gassier this one, shoe polish, a touch of apricot sneaking in there too

P: meatier than the nose would suggest. digestive bisciut, golden syrup, pistachio. some cinnamon and cloves

quiet drying

again the ABV is well hidden

N: instant herbality , melon sweets or maybe even haribo strawberries. Its doing a good job of hiding its high ABV

P: very approachable, lemon cheeseckake,some chocolate and cocobut like a macaroon bar (who knew they were made from potato!!)

i dont think it will blow anyones socks off but its definetly a very solid entry level whisky

N: that hit you get when you open a tin of biscuits at chistmas, some apple, some lemon. Theres a buttery sweetness to it

Black Lake Vodka

i'll be the fist to put my hands up that its been a long time since i drank vodka....and even then im not convinced it wasnt paint thinner

this is..pleasant. No flashbacks to sweaty nightclubs. A gentle creamyness to it

i wont be giving up whisky but its nae bad

its a really easy to drink solid bunna

N: straight off the bat theres freshly honeycombed honecomb (toffee) , melon (Cantaloupe or Gaiia) the inside of a pack of chocolate buttons

P: it was like the nose was playing a prank on me*

some heft and chew to it, sweet burnt ends, chocolate gâteau, curly wurlies and tree bark

ABV has coated my entire mouth and provided a pleasant tingle

*i am getting new windows fitted and the house reeks of silicone
