I thoroughly recommend this course. A colleague and I both participated and both took a huge amount away from it. Drawing on research but rooted in practical experience and application to context, with a focus on the knowledge leaders need and ways to acquire and use this.
π A Proud Achievement! π
Today, @geraintbrown.bsky.social and I concluded the pilot run of our "Starting as a Senior Leader" webinar series! π
This series brought together a passionate group of educators stepping into or reflecting on whole-school leadership. (1/5)
Congratulations to you all - very well deserved. In my work with various schools, I have encouraged aspiring, new and existing subject leaders to apply. Everyone who has taken part has said how good it is and how inspired & invigorated they felt. π
Looking forward to piloting this webinar series for senior leaders with @catpriggs.bsky.social in early December. Only a couple of places left. See details in the post below.
If you're new to history teaching, I can't tell you how much you need this webinar series! The forthcoming webinar (10 Oct) is the perfect antidote to GCSE-led 'source work' that has damaged the integrity, rigour & fun of teaching evidential thinking in history. www.history.org.uk/secondary/ca...
With colleagues in the history teaching community, I am running the London Landmarks half marathon in memory of the wonderful Helen Snelson, whose passing leaves a void in the subject community.

Helen Snelson meant a great deal to so many in the history teaching world and her passing leaves a void in our subject community.
Applications for the HA's Teacher Fellowship programme for 2025 are now open.
This year's programme will bring you up-to-date with historical research on Henry VIII's 'progresses' & how to approach this aspect of Tudor history in the classroom.
