It's actually more complex than just that. The history of Alto Adige/Südtirol is complicated, but it's the reason why it feels more German than Italian :)
Well, Brixen is in the middle of the Italian Alps, so there 😊 The cathedral has a baroque style, and pretty much the entire province has an Austrian/German vibe to it. Not just in terms of architecture, but also in terms of language and culture.

Hallo aus Brixen! :3 Brixen, or Bressanone, is the oldest town in the Italian province of Alto Adige/Südtirol 🇮🇹🏔 And yes, it was one of the places I visited during my time in Trento. This is the Cathedral of Brixen, right in the historic center of town.

During this week, I had the chance to visit the Holy Week of Santa Maria da Feira, one of our neighbouring municipalities. It is a historical recreation of the events of the Passion of Christ. One of the best, if not the actual best, Holy Weeks in Portugal ✨

Today, me and my fiancé spent the day in the city of Braga. We visited AGRO, an agricultural exposition, and then headed for the city center, where we watched the beggining of the Procession of the Steps, which is one of the many events of this year's Holy Week.
Yet another one of my Erasmus memories. While visiting Lake Como, I stayed in Bergamo for 3 days, after which I returned to Trento. It's a city 40 km northeast of Milan, notable for its old walled core, known as Città Alta, which is where Platinum is depicted here :3 🇮🇹

Ah, yes, it is relatively close to Munich 😄 Many people take the train there to Italy, since there's a beautiful railroad that directly connects Munich to Verona :3 And also a motorway connecting the two countries through Austria ^^

South Germany close to Südtirol? You mean close to the Austrian state of Tirol, not the Italian province of Alto Adige/Südtirol. Germany does not border Italy directly.

In Bolzano, about 25% of the population speaks German. On the other hand, the surrounding South Tyrol province has a whopping 73% of the population being German speakers. So I really think you would be alright just speaking German there :) Look up the history of South Tyrol if you're interested 😊

The city of Trento remains in the background. Platinum's original design dates back from 2009, but I only brought her back from oblivion in 2024, during my stay at CIBIO/UniTn, Trento, Italy 🇮🇹✨ Her "tridents" are exactly a nod to Trento and its latin name "Tridentum" 🏔🏞🔱
And another ref sheet for Platinum! ✨🤍🐯 At this stage, it's starting to become a tradition of renewing her ref sheet every year 😆 I reused some elements, like the face close up, as well as the outfit artwork and the other art that represent, well, me 🐯🔬🧬🔴⚪

Yesterday I attended the great Carnaval parade in Estarreja, in the Aveiro region 🇵🇹🎉🎭 One of the greatest Carnaval parades in Portugal, it offers a mix of Samba groups and good old Portuguese parody groups, each with an original song 🕺💃👯♀️ It's always fun to watch Carnaval :3
I definitely recommend a visit, at least to the Northern regions. Or any Italian region, for that matter. Italy is wonderful all around 😁
