We've got plenty on hand just in time for Independent Bookstore Day (this Saturday, April 25)--be sure to drop by for prizes, a stamp in your CT Book Trail passport, and more. We can't wait to see you!

ADORABLE stickers have just dropped! They were drawn and designed by @kellylathamart, who we've been carrying bookmarks and stickers from for several years, as part of her bookstore series, and we couldn't resist ordering them as stickers.
We'd love your opinion on which Wooble to bring in next! We've had a lot of Wooble interest from boys, so Minecraft looks fun for them, but I personally think bringing in K-Pop Demon Hunters would be amazing. But maybe you'd prefer LOTR or Bingo? (Sadly, Bluey is out of stock, but maybe soon.)
I'm doing a new series on our podcast every week: what's new in the bookstore! It's too much to do in a reel, so I've made a long-form YT about it. youtu.be/aOc6W4pLo7Y
We'll have the table set up today and tomorrow in the store to finish our news-boosting postcards, the deadline for which is April 15. We also welcome postage donations for mailing them. Come by and participate in a campaign to encourage voters in other states to vote!
The emails don't end up in quarantine--they simply don't arrive. If I change the email to my personal address--which I DO NOT want to do--it arrives at my Gmail just fine, but then I lose the email. They should be arriving in my company email.
Any ideas??
So I created an alias, but I am STILL not receiving those emails.
I don't know if they've done domain verification through CC or not. CC is NOT helpful at all. Does anyone have any ideas or anything I can fix on my end?
This has been an ongoing issue for more than a year, in Zoho and in Gmail.
Constant Contact claimed it was because they don't send emails to "role" emails--no matter whether you signed up to the email list using that email address or not.
I could really use the help of someone who understand email protocols, Constant Contact, and/or Zoho Mail.
I subscribe to several trade organizations that send emails to their lists via Constant Contact, and I cannot figure out why I'm not receiving their emails. (cont)
One of today's MANY projects: Blind Dates with a Book for our Mother's Day display! These are designed to become Mom's gift all in one package--a book, stickers, bookmarks, maybe a pen or pencil or writing pad, all in a theme that Mom will love.
They go quickly!
Thanks!
a tan-brick building with a blue-and-white-striped awning above arched windows. Inside the window, there is a neon sign that says "Get Curious!" and above the awning, a blue circular logo with the words "The Curious Cat Bookshop" that a black cat in profile is leaning on and sniffing. On the sidewalk, a chalkboard sign reads "Celebrate! Independent Bookstore Day Sat. Apr. 25" in metallic and neon colors.
It's a gorgeous day to visit a bookstore!
We're at 386 Main St. in Winsted, CT--stop on by or browse at curiouscatbookshop.com.

Especially when everything outside your control feels so chaotic right now.
The video version is on YouTube at zurl.co/rRnfI and you can find the audio version on your favorite podcast app.
a photo of Stacy Whitman, a white woman with dark blonde hair streaked with gray, wearing glasses, a gray shirt that says "It's a good day to read a book", and a copper-colored cardigan. There is a laptop on her lap, and she's gesturing with her left hand, fingers splayed. There is text above her head that reads "Control what you can" and text below her that reads "I can't change the world, but I can budget."
New podcast episode finally edited and live! What have I been obsessing over the last few months? Systems! Glamorous, I know. But it really does help to know what your numbers are in a business--and having a system that brings those numbers into focus is essential.
Happy Easter and a belated chag sameach pesach. We are open today--if you're looking for a way to get involved, we still have Postcards to Swing States. See you soon!
Have you missed our sidewalk chalkboard as much as we have? It's taken me FAR too long to do this repair/makeover, but I thought I'd take you along for the process of fixing it.

It may be rainy today, but we loved the warm weather the last few days and we can't wait to get back out there! So we've put together a display of all the fun things we can do when the weather gets warmer.
Want to see these books in a list? Here you go! zurl.co/dA0bk
I know, it's kind of busy, but making this sign made me very happy. It also helped me to know which of our paint-chalk markers still function, because I'm in the middle of repainting/revamping our chalkboard sign for outside (video of the process and before/after coming soon!).
A stack of a paperback book by Sarah Beth Durst, The Faraway Inn. The cover is deep purple with flowering vines bordering the title and an illustration of a cottage with a mossy roof, a cat sitting out front, below the title. The book is face out on top of the stack, and part of the stack below is turned so that you can see the sprayed edges of the book's pages, an illustration of multiple kinds of colorful flowers.
Sarah Beth Durst fans, we now have her latest book, The Faraway Inn, in stock! It's gorgeous and we can't wait to read it!
Come see it in the store, or grab a copy at zurl.co/UKlmi. If you order quickly enough, you'll get a copy with these amazing sprayed edges.
I'm still working on Veronica Roth's new book coming out May 12, Seek the Traitor's Son. It's really good so far!
It's Tuesday again, and that means new books! We've got a nice stack today, including a gorgeous special edition of Legendborn!

Out of the mouths of babes.
(I'm not 100% sure of his age. Could have been 9 or 10 and tall for his age, too. If this was your kid, he was a pleasure to have in the store.)

We got it a little late, but we now have the newest @authorabbyjimenez book in stock, in the deluxe edition! Come on by and grab a copy while they last.

My social media scheduler has FINALLY figured out how to post alt-text for ALL platforms, and now they even have boxes for all the pictures, not just one box for all photos. That's going to be a nice change! I never remember to go back and add it after it's gone live when it's been scheduled.
If you loved GG or really any teen TV from that era, this is the event for you! Go to zurl.co/mlvd2 for all the info and to RSVP so we know you're coming. Preorder a copy of the book from there, too!

Now that we're past the Awful Illness of January and February, we're starting up our author events program again! We can't wait to have @lindsaydenninger in the store on April 4, discussing how Gossip Girl changed pop culture as we know it.
Three books standing up on a table in front of a mural of a large tuxedo cat: Most Likely to Murder by Lish McBride, Charmed and Dangerous by Shelly Page, and Python's Kiss by Louise Erdrich
A pale hand holding two chapter books up in front of a large arched window with a blue-and-white striped awning outside it. The books are Who Was Cleopatra? and Who Is Al Yankovic?
I think that New Book Tuesdays are even more fun when we can showcase individual titles more deeply. This week, we've got a highly anticipated Louise Erdrich novel, a mystery and a romance for teens, and two new Who Was? books! Which one looks like the right read for you?
