I've seen the hurt my raging harm those I care about, and even those I don't. But, I can find ways to deflect that energy towards something positive.

I called my sponsor. He's just as pissed as I am, but he reminded me what I can control. I can't control what's happened, but I can control how I react to it. It's hard because I so want to rage like I did when I was drinking. But, raging doesn't work for me.

This really fucking pisses me off. Alcoholism is no joke.

I don't know what it's been through, nor the people whose lives it's been a part of. But, the fact that I have it now means the person who had it before me made it to year 5. If they could, I can. If I can, so can others.

But just when you think it’s easy, it ain’t. I briefly relapsed. I say this to admit my mistake and publicly hold myself accountable.
