Somehow I signed up to be notified every time Groundhog Day is playing on TV.
It's more often than you might think. (Or less if you were expecting every day.)

Know your rights. These are your rights.
1. Not to be killed (Murder is a crime. Unless it was done by a policeman.)
2. Food money (Providing of course you don't mind a little investigation, humiliation.)
3. Free speech (As long as you're not dumb enough to actually try it.)
SNL IS NOT BAD TV.
...sometimes.
POLL OF THE DAY
Is the "Somebody go wake up Green Day" joke on October 1
Still funny
or
Just annoying
?
Picture of a mostly empty bookcase that is labled "U.S. Politics" The book that is easy to see is titled JFK JR. There are a few others as well. Not all politics.
I have several incomplete jokes and sharing with you to find the gem.
I remember standing next to Mom as she rummaged through our dark wood cabinets to find her tupperware mixing bowl. She'd work flour and cream into a sticky dough she'd then drop by spoonfuls into simmering chicken and vegetable stew. The dough would puff up into soft, shiny steamed dumplings.

It's funny when tiny birds run.
Hey little guy, you can fly! Did you forget?
Anyone who is watching the #Tonys and enjoyed that performance from Buena Vista Social Club - I highly recommend listening to the 1996 same-titled album that inspired it. It features legendary Cuban musicians brought together to play traditional Cuban standards, and it's fantastic.
I've never watched the Tonys, and I feel like this is a reason to change that.
HAMCAP. Tremendous.
If you look hard enough, you can find many opportunities to sleep and not do things. I am a bear.
It was huge here in Georgia too. BNL was one of the first CDs I owned!

June 2025 calendar page two goats with a pride flag and one with a pride crown on her head
Time to turn your calendar page!
I had two bowls and wanted a third even though I was full.
It was good.
Love Brandi Carlile! I listened to her 2007 album The Story for the first time yesterday and it was so good.
I'm so sorry you had to go through both of those things today. And I'm so thankful for that Panera worker.
I love it when stuff like this happens. It's so nice of the universe to keep us in sync!
I like that roadrunner and I use the same tv tray
Today I watched the 1954 sci-fi classic movie Them! about giant radiation-mutated ants. The ant scientist that advises the government is played by Kris Kringle from Miracle on 34th Street. I love that.
I just scrolled through my entire Bluesky and read all my posts and I'm shocked that I barely get any engagement. I'm interesting and hilarious.
I want to ban whole body deodorant commercials.
He's alive! He's in 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑂𝑙𝑑 𝑊𝑒𝑠𝑡, but he's alive!
And then a bunch of accusations of cyberbulling came out against her.
Of course she disputed all of this. Who knows if she really did plagiarize or bully, but from what I remember, the evidence was pretty damning.
When she got a publishing deal, those stories all got wiped from the internet!

And then came all of the plagiarism accusations. Lots of them, but the biggest being from a published author of an old obscure fantasy series that she seemed to take major plot devices from.
2/3.
Haha, gladly. It was a big part of my "very online" high school years. At the time, she was the most popular author in the fandom by far. Her trilogy of novel-length fanfiction created several major tropes that the community/other authors adopted as canon.

Museum plaque describing life and work of Luther Fischer 1873-1953. He was committed to caring for poor patients and feeding them well.
So often we get told that being a parent is what invests you into the future of the world, but over and over so many people have committed to making the world better and better for generations to come even though they had no children of their own. Dr. Fischer cared.
Oh man.
Every couple of years, I re-encounter the fact that CC is a famous author, which gives me so much glee, as I know her from insane drama in the Harry Potter fanfiction community 25 years ago.
I always wonder if fans of her published work know about that stuff or if it's just too niche.
"Come, family. Let us all go watch television. Let us sit around the picture box and view the new episode of Hee Haw."
The 'herby' is so key here.
