The international world of books buzzing at London Book Fair 2026, a wonderful few days of meetings with old friends and new at Olympia. And a humbling experience and reinforcement in the National Year of Reading 2026 that the importance of authors, books and of reading has never been greater.

I’m a big fan of Sandra Newman’s novel The Heavens with its time slip from noughties New York to Elizabethan England. So, I’m pretty overwhelmed to read this early response.
Coming: September 2026

Such a huge body of work, congrats Andy. It has been one of the most innovative and influential things to have happened in publishing for years. I’m hoping that once rested & reinvigorated that some ‘specials’ may pop up perhaps. Too good not to continue. Meanwhile raising my tea to you all, bravo!

Tomorrow we release the final episode of Backlisted for the foreseeable future.* After ten years, it's a very odd feeling. I am looking forward to spending more time with my books and fewer times on social media.
