Sometimes life is rough but also sets you up to roll with punches. Weird that movies about that exact type of thing used to be extremely common in the "contemporary drama" genre before everything became ungodly expensive.

I was there when this guy was only on Tumblr, in his Poster's Infancy. The fact that he still doesn't get that he's a nuisance is the best part. He has at NO point ever stopped writing like he's arguing via Edwardian missives.

The entire genre of contemporary supernatural horror games does too! That game being so good is legitimately an albatross around the genre's neck, because it presents this massive wall that demands to either be overcome, which is extremely hard, or avoided, which means avoiding a LOT of its ideas.

It's literally just a focused linear 3rd person shooter in the 360/PS3 style with a cute girl sidekick & a Ryan Gosling-esque positive-masculinity leading man, that's it! All this shit is over nothing!

The creator of E7 wanted it to be a nihilistic tragedy about the impossibility of real communication, both with the Scub & other humans, but the studio said no that's too mean which is why the show has that happy>miserable>hopeful tone curve.

Every sequel is "what he wanted", for the worse.

It's like someone took one of those 10/10 7/10 obscure Japanese PS3 action games & polished into a genuine no-caveats 10/10, the Dad MC is genuinely just a good dude, very Ant Man Paul Rudd, & the girl Diana is just genuinely incredibly fun to watch do cute things & be cool.
