I honestly think a significant portion of them who voted Labour expected them to do it anyway. I know I did.

Meet James Bembridge, the Reform candidate for Westminster in next month’s local elections.
As well as this tweet, Temu Lex Luthor here, has also been quoted as saying "Most NHS nurses look like they're eating food banks out of business."
Don’t let him get his deposit back.
By two complete amateurs.
Not a single penny or pound.
It still boggles the mind why Labour would allow Palantir anywhere near our public sector and armed forces.
I understand. Anyone paying any attention to what's going on in the world is gonna be kinda frazzled half the time.
I've followed you for a good while (since the Brexit says) & value your commentary & explanations.
When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.
Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

Really sounds like a guy who is in way over his head. Who made a name by making up stories of monsters under the bed only to find they exist & are so much more terrifying than he imagined... and he's wound up working for them.
Yeah, I get the point.
Wasn't intended as criticism though.
I do worry about the loss of a defined framework for international trade though. We need to be moving closer to all for one & one for all, not further away from it.
One should observe that David (a friend) has and continues to perform a vital and largely thankless role in explaining the UK to the EU and vice versa — a thoughtful advocate for everyone’s best interests. A vital role that for some reason HMG appears inadequately staffed to perform.
Given how fast and loose the US is playing with tariffs & how we never hear about the WTO when other states are trying to do "deals" with them to avoid it, I'm always surprised to be reminded the WTO exists.
That’s what made me realise a ban on under 16s using social media is pointless if grandpa is out here sharing AI generated Facebook memes about “invasion”. Maybe they should regulate the whole sordid lot properly?
It's wild how little this is part of the conversation about online safety & the harms of social media

This is a dance off. If you see this repost a dance, or you are eliminated.
I don't think it's the fault of the average person.
The things we all used to broadly agree on have been systematically & deliberately politicised, almost exclusively by the right.
It's hard not to be politic brained when almost every issue is made a political battleground.
A little girl in the doctor’s waiting room asks her mum if she can get something out of her mum’s bag.
Her mum: What, here?
The girl nods.
Mum: Oh, alright then.
The little girl takes a full-sized, old-fashioned police helmet out of the bag, puts it on and smiles.
Kinda begs the question of why he is now outsourcing both management AND strategic direction.
I really like my kobo, but the one I got, the libre colour, does feel like the screen is less "paper" like, being quite a bit more grey in colour.
It's not helped by the fact I went for the white frame version, which accentuates the greyness of the screen. Would recommend against that choice tbh.
I bought the "Reasons my kid is crying book" when ours was a toddler. It helped remind me it wasn't just me 😄
Exactly one year ago today:
Works out for the "limited shelf space" option too. I can have print versions of books I love & still have a much larger selection to read from by buying books I liked the sound of, or are in a sale. Also means I end up buying a digital & print version, so good for authors too I guess 😄
I love owning real physical books, but just find I read more on my reader. When my last kindle died I thought it was a good chance to ditch readers & go back to just reading print books. The reality after just over a year was that I just read less, so I bought a kobo.
These people are so sef indulgently miserable & doom laden. No wonder Morrisey joined up.

Grifty @TheGriftReport Follow G... Keir Starmer jetted off for a four-day luxury family Easter break at a £200-a-night four-star boutique hotel in Valencia, complete with rooftop bar and pool. While lounging in the sun and sipping café con leche in a public square, Trump was issuing ultimatums to "obliterate" Iran's power plants and warning Tehran they'd be "living in Hell." Starmer stayed put despite the escalating crisis, five years after he slammed Boris Johnson for holidaying as Kabul fell, declaring: "You cannot coordinate an international response from the beach." Macron spent the weekend on emergency calls with Trump and Iran's president. Starmer? Not so much. Priorities 7:30 AM • Apr 12, 2026 • 3.5M Views
Fascinated by the implication that £200/night for a family holiday is outrageous luxury living
And if the precedent is they are employed, there is a small matter of tax...
