Bounced off it as well because I hated the way the ship handled, so I didn't enjoy the exploration. Watched a let's play, and I get why people were mindblown by it, but I wouldn't have been able to get to this point by sheer frustration haha
I guess Jobs was pretty infamous in his collaboration with designers... but that exceeds the scope of websites, he was more of a Wagnerian Gesamtkunstwerk guy.
Yes, that came to my mind! It kind of tickles the same ideas when I look at those. Film and website/apps are both products of highly collaborative works. But did those iconic design trends happen by the will of an individual pushing their specific plan, or does that never happen?
And what is a blockbuster movie as a website, then? What's the Transformers of websites? Or the crossover between the two? What's the Zodiac of websites?
What about the powers of film editing? Can we make some sort of equivalence with scrolling experience, or navigation experience?
I was thinking about my film history studies while drinking coffee this morning. And I thought, are there auteur websites? Where the vision of a single director brought specific aesthetics to life?
