Will email to let him know my objection to Ford’s move to exempt himself and his ministers from FOI/freedom of information requests. Ford is rejecting transparency and accountability. It will be so much easier to hide corruption if Ford is successful in this legislation.

Ford’s move to block freedom of information requests for himself (and his ministers) tears at the very fabric of our democracy. We as voters should be able to know what govt is doing. Transparency. Accountability. Does Ford think he’s a king?
Quick elaboration on this. The disproportionate rate at which BA.3.2 infects children is not driven by infants. The 0-1 age group is less overrepresented (by a large margin) than the 2-5 and 6-17 age groups in the countries we have data for.

Ford sounds desperate (need FOI changes to protect us from Chinese communists). Why is he so desperate?
He intends to table legislation when the leg resumes Mar 23 so time is fleeting to object.
Please call Ford today!

I REALLY hope this can be replicated in humans. A trial in mice showed that a nasal vaccine targeting multiple respiratory pathogens including COVID-19 worked really well - enabling development of protective Immunity in the lung for 3 months (the duration of testing) 🧪
When fascists take rights away from a group of people, they never stop there. Eventually, they come for everything. Invalidating the drivers licenses of trans people in Kansas is just the start. Who will be next?

It’s day 90 of the ICE occupation of MSP.
ICE is still here, terrorizing communities.
Today at the Whipple building, HCSO deputies violently assaulted and arrested protesters.
Meanwhile, Minnesotans are raising money and paying rent for thousands of our neighbors.
And when it comes down to it, 96 cases in just a few weeks is *huge* when we know it can be zero or close to zero. There mustn’t be any shrugging of shoulders, or acceptance of these outbreaks.
We know that outbreaks are avoidable because we did avoid them – for years, and not long ago. 7/8
Instead of being given the funding necessary to hire more educational assistants and child and youth workers to proactively meet student needs and prevent meltdowns, school boards are given money to spend on Kevlar for educators.
Make it make sense.

Exactly!
Dara, I’m sorry this is happening to you and everyone there living the nightmare. The stories of so many people’s resistance to this inhumanity are inspiring (although that may be small comfort). We, in other parts of the world, see your strength as you stand against the daily evils!!!
This assault in human rights and human decency cannot be reformed. Cut off its funding, dismantle its lawless operations, prosecute every single wrongdoer. From the top on down.

For us (Canadians) if we find out there are Canadian companies supporting ICE in the US, it’s past time to tell our employers and other businesses we frequent that we don’t want them doing business with them.
And to refuse to support those Canadian companies that have contracts with ICE.
For our American friends to pass on to other American friends. (See how to support Minnesotans below as well as what to do to resist fascism if you live in the US).
Omg. That is so scary!
No wonder you worried this time after last time. I’d be freaked out, too!
Poor kid! I hope he’s ok! That could be very bad. No wonder you were worried.
Poor you! The worry for our kids. Always.
Sometimes you just need to watch Prince sing "Starfish & Coffee" with the Muppets. (His whole episode of Muppets Tonight is fun, this link goes to the section with this particular song.) 🧵

Strength to all of you helping neighbours, caring for others, and standing against injustice in the face of this aggression and violence.
For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.
The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Great. 🙄
Canadian announcement of a U.S. product that is 3X the price & 1/2 the performance of a Canadian product already registered with Health Canada PMRA.

Arnoldo Bazan, a 16-year-old U.S. citizen, was put in a chokehold by ICE agents.
Agents took his phone, which he tracked to a used electronics vending machine near an ICE detention center.
Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.

Subheadline: “Experts are urging guideline changes on what health professionals should wear to protect against flu-like illnesses including Covid”. Below is a side-by-side photo: on the left, a man wearing a blue surgical mask; on the right, a person wearing a white FFP2-style respirator and a black hat and scarf, facing each other in profile. Caption under the photo: “Surgical masks, such as the one on the left, which became ubiquitous during Covid, should be replaced by respirators like the FFP2 face mask, right. Bottom text: “The World Health Network is a network devoted to global compassion—working together to inspire collective action through science for a safer, healthier world.”
Graphic with the text “whn.global” at top left. Centered excerpt text reads: “The WHO has been criticised for being slow to describe Covid-19 as spreading via ‘airborne’ particles and the letter also calls for it to revisit earlier statements and ‘unambiguously inform the public that it spreads via airborne respiratory particles’.” Next paragraph: “Prof Trisha Greenhalgh of the University of Oxford, whose research is cited extensively in the letter and is one of its signatories, said: ‘A germ that does not get inside someone cannot make them sick. By sealing against the face, respirators force airflow to pass through them, filtering out the airborne germs. Respirators are designed to fit closely around the face and meet high filtration standards. Medical masks, in contrast, fit loosely and leak extensively.’” Final paragraph: “The letter’s supporters include members of the World Health Network, prominent US epidemiologist Eric Feigl-Ding, and Guardian columnist George Monbiot.” Bottom text: “The World Health Network is a network devoted to global compassion—working together to inspire collective action through science for a safer, healthier world.”
World Health Network was featured in The Guardian as experts urge the WHO to update global guidance: surgical masks are inadequate, and respirators should be standard protection in healthcare settings.

Sending strength to you and all Minnesotans who are taking care of each another during this terrible time.
Bless these kids.
🔥 @markruffalo.bsky.social : “I gotta be honest, I’m not feeling so great. Renee Good was murdered... stormtroopers running around terrorizing. As much as I love all this, I can’t pretend all this crazy stuff isn’t happening. We have a president who says laws don’t apply to him- this is crazy.”
It’s a horror. I’m so sorry this is happening there and to your godchild.
I know they’re trying to turn this shooting into Dealey Plaza with their desperate camera angles and excuses for the murderous ICE officer but how do they explain the subsequent refusal to allow a doctor to reach the car? And lying that they already had medics there? All on tape.
Google the video & see for yourself.
This is not law enforcement. This is murder.
Sickening.
