Anthropic just mapped out which jobs AI could potentially replace. A ‘Great Recession for white-collar workers’ is absolutely possible The red jobs are what AI is doing now, Anthropic says. The blue ones are what it's coming for next.

It will be interesting to see how b-schools navigate this challenge. Teaching students to interact with AI is a good start, but it's not going to be enough. finance.yahoo.com/news/anthrop...

Wow. I guess it's not a surprise. www.chronicle.com/article/tenu...

Put Down the Woke Man's Burden - First Things I was profiled recently in the Wall Street Journal, which was an interesting experience for a mild-mannered, retiring professor. It illustrated for me how things I’ve written about the...

Below hes upset about the “woke man.” He mentions he’s on the exit path but seems quite happy about it. Extra years of salary, health care, and a 403(b) and then sail on down to Florida at age 70 for a relaxed career as a fading intellectual. Total player! firstthings.com/put-down-the...

More than half of researchers now use AI for peer review — often against guidance A survey of 1,600 academics found that more than 50% have used artificial-intelligence tools while peer reviewing manuscripts.

No surprise that AI is used for reviewing. But since AI can't reliably critique and often gets stuff wrong, it makes me wonder how journals are handling this. Simply telling reviewers not to do this isn't going to stop it. Disclosure? Training? Limitations on use?

Those tacos look excellent and as someone who lives in Leucadia, putative home of the fish taco, I have some authority on this matter.

Also her version of Michael McDonald's "Let Me Go Love," in a duet with him. So good. Never understood why that wasn't a bigger hit or why she wasn't a bigger star, like Linda Rondstadt.

The distinction is that we were both recruited at the same time, as opposed to one of us recruited, and then the other is the "trailing" spouse. We're unique but there are a few other couples like us in b-schools.

It’s down in Encinitas. Looks like the cox website is hosed - outage maps won’t load, can’t log in, 504 errors. Downdetector suggests it’s down.

There's a meltdown happening in the produce aisle at Whole Foods - they ran out of fresh cranberries. And over in Deli, there's a couple calling the rest of the family on speaker about what now because they ran out of cherry pies.

Retweet | ACR 2010 | Hoffman and Novak YouTube video by Tom Novak

Back in the early days of Twiiter, @tomnovak.bsky.social and I were so inspired by the "town hall" vibe emerging at Twitter that we made a mini-movie about it, "Retweet." RIP Twitter. May bsky live long and prosper.

So why is there not an iPad app?

So, I joined last year, but today seems like a good day to commit to the switch. Somebody recommended to copy and paste the posts from that other place to look alive. However, I'm too lazy to do that. Plus, fresh start, right? In the meanwhile, let's hope for brighter days ahead.
