On the Thai Restaurant massacre in Gaza last week:

"I would come to the restaurant at least twice a week to finish my articles—to report the genocide of my people to the world. I thought it was a safe place, but in this land of death, there is no such thing."

This Channel 4 report is about Ali Faraj, who was thrown to a neighbor's roof by an Israeli airstrike that killed his father & all his sisters. Footage showed the 7 year old, face blackened from the explosion, lying in shock with his father's body behind him & his 2 year old sister split in half.
"We asked the IDF why, having arrested & released him twice, they then decided to target him in an airstrike...and why they considered his young family to be an acceptable level of collateral damage. They did not give us an answer." www.youtube.com/watch?v=AILY...
Neither Biden nor Netanyahu was ever seriously interested in freeing this US-Israeli soldier. Trump seemed to be, and was on the verge of securing his release in March before letting Netanyahu resume the war on Gaza.
At least the US might be understanding Netanyahu's priorities now.
Edan Alexander being released:
He's an American from New Jersey who left the US to join the Israeli army. He was captured from an army base near Gaza. He should never have been there & serious questions should be asked of those in his life who encouraged him to join the apartheid regime's military.

Our remarkable colleague Abubaker Abed never wanted to leave his homeland. In a deeply personal essay, he describes the excruciating decisions he was forced to make.

Netanyahu claims Israel breaking the ceasefire, imposing a starvation siege & killing 2500 people is why Hamas will release Edan Alexander.
Hamas had said it would release him right before the ceasefire was broken. He would've been home 2 months ago if it weren't for Netanyahu.
Israeli settlers in civilian vehicles stormed the town of Sa’ir, north of Hebron, firing indiscriminately and causing civilians—including children—to flee in panic.
Guardian headline: UK’s F-35 exports more important than stopping genocide, lawyers to argue
Did not expect to see this headline from The Guardian. It’s good to finally be getting clarity in the language around Gaza.
“UK’s F-35 exports more important than stopping genocide, lawyers to argue”
A really interesting Breaking Points segment with @jeremyscahill on his interviews with Hamas leaders. A lot of insights into how the group sees the current battle and info from those who were part of the first direct US-Hamas talks: youtu.be/tbTQgzn-oxM?...
Israeli soldiers caught on camera punching and kicking man during a home raid in the West Bank tonight
Yahya Sobeih's last post this morning: a picture with his daughter, born earlier today. A few hours later, he was killed in an Israeli airstrike with at least 28 other people in Gaza City. Pictures show parents and children among the dead as people had gathered to find a wifi connection & buy food.
Since launch, @dropsitenews.com has had some of the best English-language coverage of the Gaza genocide. They use journalists on the ground and give credence to local sources & political actors-which should be standard for all media but clearly isn't. Happy to have joined their livestream this week.
Israel's prison service put out the image on the left today, of Palestinian prisoners in an Israeli torture camp under a large picture of Gaza's destruction.
The guy who runs these camps was in Mar A Lago today, to call for bombing...food (see his own post) in Gaza.
Israel bans Palestinians from digging wells on their own land/tapping into the West Bank aquifer. Israel's water company Mekorot illegally pumps water from the occupied West Bank then sells it back to Palestinians at inflated prices.
(This policy has been in place since Nov 1967)
A 2017 Amnesty Intl report on Israeli water policies found Palestinians in the occupied West Bank consume 73 liters per day (WHO recommended daily min is 100L). Israelis living in the same place consume 300L per day.
In Gaza today, it's SIX liters per day.

cowards.
Around the same time the Israelis were firing missiles at tents in the displacement zone in the south, they also hit a tent near Kamal Adwan hospital in the north. Footage is graphic.
10 people burned to death tonight,
after an Israeli airstrike,
on a tent,
in the “humanitarian zone”.
Somehow, 18 months in, the apartheid regime still finds a way to shock you with its depravity.
missing here: House Dem Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries
From Axios Reality check: The sentiment within the party about rallying behind deportees is not universal. The second House Democrat who spoke anonymously, a centrist, called the deportation issue a "soup du jour," arguing Trump is "setting a trap for the Democrats, and like usual we're falling for it." "Rather than talking about the tariff policy and the economy ... the thing where his numbers are tanking, we're going to go take the bait for one hairdresser," they said, likely referring to Andry Hernandez Romero. Only if Trump tries to deport U.S. citizens, the lawmaker argued, will Democrats need to draw a "line in the sand" and "shut down the House."
What does it take for someone's soul to be this emptied
Very few people talk about hiding Palestinians and allies and other targeted groups facing this fascist regime’s kidnappings and trains to concentration camps. What does that conversation look like and when does it begin in earnest.
Al-Sharqiya Cemetery, near Gaza City, is the largest cemetery in Gaza. It has been inaccessible since the genocide began and many fear it has been bulldozed and destroyed, along with the remains of our loved ones.

Hamas claims it has lost contact with an Israeli-American soldier in its custody, Edan Alexander, after a recent Israeli airstrike.
Hamas had agreed to release him early after direct talks between it & the Trump administration. Days later, Israel broke the ceasefire.
"Giora Eiland had warned that Israeli fuel restrictions would cause babies in Gazan hospitals to "die in incubators" and urged that Israel "not give in on this issue".
The authorities proved their mettle as premature babies in Al-Shifa Hospital duly perished."
