I don’t know what’s more impressive, the survey or that cake. Both great scientific achievements

@waiterich.bsky.social have you seen any evidence of rocket fuels doing more or less warming by spreading it so high in the atmosphere compared to cars or planes?

I can’t help but feel like people are intentionally screen shoting the worst posts from other platforms to sidestep people’s blocks and mutes, please stop doing this, if I wanted to see that I would be on those platforms

I was super into it for about 20 hours but I hit a wall because it’s not really a rogue lite and you don’t gain anything new or get any type of advantages after a little while and it felt like I was just needing lucky RNG to progress any further .

Probably a skill issue on my part though

“My claims I presented without evidence were challenged with evidence and now we’re done talking” is absolutely the problem with GMO fear mongerers, anti vaxxers, climate change denialists, and all the other dumb conspiracies.

Sri Lanka’s organic farming disaster, explained A shift to better farming practices is possible, but Sri Lanka’s abrupt switch to organics offers a bitter lesson in how to change food systems in a sustainable way.

The point that GMO fear mongering is part of the dumb naturalistic fallacy that would get a bunch of people killed if they were taken seriously.

The benefit is to the billions of humans that don’t starve to death, Sri Lanka decided to double down on this dumb natural fallacy and it was a disaster.

Great news for the Amazon, all those dumb trees in the way and now the cows can graze as nature intended. 🙃

The guardian, New York Times, and Reuters are reporting this as executing “people convicted of attacks” , they’re very intentionally phrasing it in a way that doesn’t sound as bad.

No, especially the type you buy at a store where the queen is horribly exploited. No different than dairy cows and egg laying hens.

To be fair to the students, you could put a PhD physicist on the other side of that chair and you’re not gonna get much better because there’s no logical argument against veganism.

It really does just come down to “well that’s what I grew up eating”

Yes, even if you take people who grew up in a much better food environment like Japan and you put McDonald’s around them they gain weight and start eating those foods regularly, if they travel to America for an extended period they will gain weight and take bad habits back with them.

Yes if you put a donut, cookie, cake, or candy bar next to a fruit tray, the vast majority of people would rather eat the junk, that doesn’t make you a bad person or lazy or dumb, it’s just how humans are Wired.

The fault is the people shoving those foods in your face 24/7.

And just to add to this, liking junk food doesn’t make you a bad person, it doesn’t mean obesity is your own fault, there’s no need to get defensive or make up excuses about how it’s a money issue.

I think it’s great that people want to defend overweight people but we need to be honest.

Produce Prescription Subsidy for Patients With Diabetes This randomized clinical trial examines the effect of a produce prescription program on cardiometabolic health outcomes and health care utilization among patients with diabetes at risk of food insecur...

People often pin America's crap diet on poverty.

If people had more money, the theory goes, they'd eat a more nutritious and less obesogenic diet.

I've been pushing back against that, because I've seen no evidence for it.

Here's a new study!
