"An NYPD spokesperson shrugged off the suggestion of punishment because Giovansanti’s tickets are 'not related to his job or his duties in the department.'"

He's a liar and a killer. I don't know what else to tell people, he's a rich eugenicist, he wants as many poor people as possible to die in the name of 'health.' He's a genuinely and uniquely malign figure in American life and his appointment was an act of violence

The number of Republicans crashing out about getting nakedly gerrymandered is, unironically, a sign that we need to do more of it. You guys are correct! This shit sucks! Welcome to the party, pals! We can all stop doing it any time you like!

CDC won’t publish report showing covid shots cut likelihood of hospital visits The report, which had cleared the agency’s scientific-review process, had been delayed. It now won’t be published at all, people familiar with the decision told The Post.

SCOOP: Two weeks ago, the head of the CDC delayed publication of a report showing covid vaccine cut likelihood of ER visits and hospitalizations by half. Now that report is no longer allowed to be published in CDC’s flagship scientific journal. My latest. 1/2

It Was on Your Table Every Morning Growing Up. It’s Dying Before Our Eyes. No One Wants to Face It. The powerhouse of American citrus is suffering a brutal decline. Everyone has a theory about why.

Totally off-topic, but did y'all the know the Free State of Florida's citrus industry is basically dead??

This is quite a story:

When conservatives still pretended to have an intellectual foundation to their beliefs, they used to claim studying the classics was vital. Now the only “classics” they want to study is Nazi propaganda.

I dunno, man. AI is flooding my job and the way it has improved in the last 6 months is astounding. I fear we may be vastly underestimating its ability to wipe out many knowledge-management roles, not just tech.

Most WS analysts are predicting this will all be way worse for outsourcing firms bc will cheapen labor, hurt recurring revenue streams, and subsequently pressure margins.

Anecdotally, my 8,000 employee firm just outsourced all HD/Command Center jobs to Accenture and it’s a fucking disaster.

TLDR: Chief Injustice Roberts killed our democracy over personal pride.

John Roberts is and always has been Sam Alito with better PR

he has declared himself and his fellow republican justices the unelected rulers of America and they have wielded their power in favor of making Donald Trump of all people untouchable

the court as it exists today must be broken

Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later.

This is precisely the sort of advance that Bobby Measles is trying to prevent when he cuts funding for mRNA-based vaccines and treatments.

Jamal is too nice to say "utter hypocrisy," but that's what this is.

Today's #SCOTUS treats *all* coercive relief against the executive branch as imposing irreparable harm on the government. For that proposition, they cite a 2014 opinion by ... Chief Justice Roberts.

Its absence here is deafening.

Screenshotted excerpt from linked article reading as follows:

"In public, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. has cultivated a reputation for care and caution. The papers reveal a different side of him. At a critical moment for the country and the court, the papers show, he acted as a bulldozer in pushing to stop Mr. Obama’s plan to address the global climate crisis.

When colleagues warned the chief justice that he was proposing an unprecedented move, he was dismissive. “I recognize that the posture of this stay request is not typical,” he wrote. But he argued that the Obama plan, which aimed to regulate coal-fired plants, was “the most expensive regulation ever imposed on the power sector,” and too big, costly and consequential for the court not to act immediately."

New York Times got receipts on John Roberts being like, 'I know this isn't how anything works, but a Democratic president is about to implement a policy!!'

Grotesque: In a dispute over a will, two brothers including a retired Alabama state trooper now working at a federal courthouse, appear to have gotten their mother-in-law arrested by ICE.
Using the state to remove disfavored family members is the sort of thing that happens in totalitarian regimes.

She was granted withholding of removal from India *decades* ago, and had been living and working legally (including for the U.S. government!) ever since.

But with third country removals now a real option, TSA shared her data with ICE and they arrested her at the airport on her way to a job.

I said this before and I will say it again: if you have a disputed status, do not fly at all, the Mobile Fortify database used by ICE and CPB, is built on the pre-existing TSA database. And if I were the Democrats: I would refuse to appropriate DHS through regular order until 2028.

Barrera said her husband said the smell of human feces in the toilet caused a fellow detainee to vomit and, in turn, created a chain of people vomiting.
She said her husband is asthmatic and has not received medication to treat his condition. The lack of medicine and the stress of the overcrowded holding cell has left him short of breath and teetering on the edge of an asthma attack, Barrera said.
ICE did not immediately respond to questions on April 10 about the conditions of the Mesa or Phoenix facilities.
After the publication of this article, Barrera told The Arizona Republic her husband was transferred to the ICE facility at San Luis Regional Detention Center at about midnight. The San Luis Regional Detention Center is in Southwestern Arizona and has the capacity to hold 700 people.

This is horrific. A U.S. citizen describes the facility in Arizona that her husband was brought to while he waited to be put on a deportation flight. Dozens of people were crammed into tiny cells, there was a "chain of people vomiting" from filthy toilets, no medical care, and only one meal per day.

Amazing that a man would rather a higher risk of his family living in poverty if he loses his job or dies than the indignity of having a wife help provide a safety net for the entire family.

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

The crazy thing is this doesn’t even make sense on a personal economic level. Unless a man can make $250,000+ a year on his own, most households need two incomes to have a decent level of economic security. One income homes are definitionally less secure and prone to economic devastation!

F-ing depraved. The IDF edited a photo of the journalist they assassinated and made it look like he was wearing a Hezbollah uniform. They explicitly state that it is legal in Israel to murder journalists. The entire Israeli state is a criminal enterprise.

"Jews promote race-mixing among everyone else, to undermine the white race, while protecting their own racial purity" is a quite longtime fascist view about the Jews. It's literally part of Nazi ideology.
