I've published 40 videos on YouTube.
Upside: they're free. Downside: my Aussie twang and choice of intro tunes. www.youtube.com/@Bendobrown/...

“Keep all wireless communication devices away from the leaders.” Documents unearthed after Assad’s fall show Syrian spy agency reacting to Israel’s pager attack on Hezbollah. Our latest feature with @occrp.org and Daraj:
Confidential Syrian cables discovered by Daraj reporters show how Bashar al-Assad's intelligence services scrambled to make sense of Israel’s explosive pager attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon last September.

5/ The families of the disappeared have waited decades for answers. Their suffering should no longer be overshadowed by political agendas or used as a bargaining tool. Accountability must take priority.
4/ Parties like the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) and Lebanese Forces (LF) have often exploited the plight of the disappeared to serve their own agendas. This instrumentalization only adds to the pain of the families.
3/ Recent reports of detainees being freed after the fall of the Assad regime, including two Lebanese missing for decades, have sparked fragile hope. But this tragedy remains heavily politicized.
2/ Enforced disappearances were a tool of repression under Hafez and Bashar al-Assad, used to silence dissent. Some Lebanese factions were complicit, deepening the tragedy. Families have been trapped between hope and despair for years.
1/ My latest analysis for L'Orient Le Jour - Lebanese disappeared in Syria: a tragedy turned into a political weapon.
Over 650 Lebanese disappeared during the civil war and Syrian occupation, leaving families in limbo for decades. 🧵👇

As there has been a lot of chatter about @occrp.bsky.social, the investigative non-profit is clarifying some points in a Q&A. Please read carefully, and form your opinion on whether the Mediapart&Co report is truly revelatory and fair. www.occrp.org/en/frequentl...
In response to @mediapart.fr etc’s highly unethical and willingly deceptive reporting, @occrp.bsky.social has released an FAQ on our funding and editorial policies. It also links to our public financials, which Mediapart misleadingly claimed to have uncovered
