This looks like most of the data they’d have on students? But also hey if the hacker can be rehabilitated…

Honestly, decades later and the phrase “CHEAP DOORS - ON SALE!” still occasionally pops into my head. Telstra should just chuck them a tenner to make an ad and reap the profits.

I mean, in a way… direct negotiations with the Taliban and without Ghani certainly sped up an end to the war!

BlackBerry was more than a tiny keyboard.

It was a tiny keyboard with specific indents that your thumbs learned through painful rote until you could file 600 words with your eyes up on a news event.

Perhaps, perhaps not… but the overtures were always going to raise eyebrows higher than Sydney’s old Centrepoint Tower when accompanied by such statements.

My old uni sold the student accomodation I lived in and now it’s so expensive I’d need a full time job just to afford it.

Former workplace once had a Canadian on a swap and she kept asking Australians in Australia why they didn’t have an Australian accent.

I mean, Huawei’s first 5G keynote presentation in MWC was all about it underpinning driverless cars. To which my immediate instinct was “hello sir have you met the Australian Parliamentary System?”

My main peeve was it just *didn’t* work. Sure, fiddling around with network settings and switching off 5Ghz could help, but post update you’d just constantly lose speakers. They fixated on timers but core functionality remained broken for many.

My favourite hype cycle moment was when I covered a tech event in China and the chairman of a booze company went on stage to claim his company was *not* a booze company but in fact a Big Data company (it was, in truth, a booze company)

Seamus you don’t understand. If you studied the subject, learned about neural nets, LLM, understood the peer reviewed literature and worked at the coal face cutting edge of AI…

…you’d know it’s about that sweet, sweet share price jump every time they hit the red button labelled “IT’S AI”
