when i got phd from albany 9yrs ago, i didn't expect any academic success. what i sought at that time was uncertain career as gov bureaucrat. now i find citations by big scholars whose book/papers are my bible. because of my low expectation, i've already fully satisfied before my 10th anniversary.

Writing econ paper is painful, publishing it is great, which however not relevant its usefulness. rather econ technology is always late.

Academically successful economists who realized their ideas in real world is cool. However, after 7 years of attempt in my career I conclude economics does not solve real problems by itself. Rather, there are almost always real solutions outside economics. Economics is way of thinking not solution.
