A person with dark hair turned away from the camera to show off their braid that has been tied off with a black ribbon. Some hair has been teased out near their scalp from moving in their sleep, but the braid itself is secure and does not show signs of loosening or coming undone.
Photographic proof of my securely-tied-off braid btw. I did this last night while half-awake, slept in it with my wife and 4 dogs, and then came to work. It's frizzy at the base from rubbing against my pillow in the night but the braid is secure af. ☺️ This skill/knowledge brings me much joy tbh.

anyway thank you to various historical fashion/hair styling youtubers for providing tips/info on things like elastics damaging your hair if you wear them tight/for extended periods (I did both initially) and teaching me how to tie off my braid with a ribbon securely enough I can sleep in it <3

(it's also funny if I ever leave my hair down at work 'cause usually i have it twisted up and held in place with a hair stick or left in my slightly frizzy sleep braid due to being in a rush, so if it's down all my coworkers are like HOLY CRAP your hair's so LONG! :O it's always funny XD)

I know braids can be heavy but I'd never experienced it on my own head and it's WILD. And it's not even that heavy, it's just. NOTICEABLE in a way I'd never had the chance to experience before. Absolutely wild to experience for the first time a month before I turn 40 as a transmasc person XD

Like, this is the longest my hair has ever been I think, so even though it's definitely a lot thinner than it was when I was a teenager, there's still a LOT of it. And being able to lift and drop it and like FEEL it hit my back/jerk to a stop is wild.

so i've been growing my hair out for the past 3.5ish years (i got a fresh short fade right before starting my job back in 2022, and one trim a year or so ago to touch up some split ends) and I gotta say, the actual weight of my nighttime braid is WILD.

@wowhead.com hey WoWhead wanted to check in about your "show tooltip as spec" tool. I was looking at my current main hand weapon (sword) as my main's spec (survival hunter) and it showed the weapon type in red (can't wield) when uh. I do. It shows white for other specs like DK. What's up?

Hi, I'm doing pretty good actually! How about you?
Also that's still more often than me XD aside from a like 5-post spurt in 2017 I think I've been out of the scene for like 12 years. The fact you're REMOTELY still active as a WoW blogger is insane and awesome.

(fr tho I raided with Kurn's guild at the end of Wrath and then my work schedule changed so I couldn't devote the time to keep up with them in Cata, and it's always kind of gutted me a bit. My one-lockout pre-Cata pre-prepatch Starcaller run was at least half Apoth folks. the NOSTALGIA, man...)

Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Die Off
Sometimes older voters aren’t just naturally more conservative. It’s just that wealthier and whiter people tend to live longer and healthier lives.
Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

y'know, I love the original episodes of "It Could Happen Here", but frankly after that, it has turned into "Doomscrolling: The Podcast", and I don't think those need to be on my Behind the Bastards feed @iwriteok.bsky.social. Can we maybe please just let it be its own podcast??

It's cute that you think I care if you have a good opinion on my personality. I'm a lovely person as long as you're not a bigot. Sadly, i lost my patience for bigots years ago.

ALT: a man sitting at a table with his mouth wide open
Showed @ha1fbyte.bsky.social the first episode of LEVERAGE tonight. After, re: Eliot and Hardison, she said, "There is probably SO MUCH gay porn about those two."
Me: "Not unless Parker's there. The OT3 carries the fandom."

It's cute that you think science backs your transphobia up when you have, at best, an 8 year old's grasp of human biology.

We are experiencing an assault on science unparalleled by anything I’ve seen in my life. It’s not one issue or another anymore, the entire institution is under attack by the most powerful individuals in the country.
This Friday, where will you be?
