I read something recently about how young kids (like 5/6yrs old) that have been used to using Siri and Alexa at home, are using the same sort of abrupt demanding language with women outside of the home, because those tools are predominantly 'woman-coded' and instruction driven.

Jesus. 60%, with no voluntary and min redundancy payment. That is brutal.

There are still a couple of places left for the Kairos Spring Residency in Devon. It's subsidised, so very good value for a week away in a beautiful spot with interesting people! www.kairos.london/event/kairos...
This sounds amazing!

I've been intentionally leaving the grey to come through in my hair since last year. It's still mostly streaks rather than full coverage, but I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying seeing how it's growing in.
Have fun!
our collective willingness, and ability to talk and listen about death and dying has atrophied, and is often left to specialists.
Climate injustice, political and economic instability, and the pandemic, with so many unacknowledged losses, has only intensified this dissociation.

I'm so sorry. It's unforgivable that this bullshit is causing additional anxiety for you. I hope your experience goes smoothly in all ways. π
Ooh, this is new to me. Just looked it up and it's a definite must read!
Fuck.
I worry that as the current workforce either ages out or is replaced, the next generation are not going to have the opportunity or investment to develop the experience needed, to be able to manage what they expected to produce with AI.
This. π―. This is a big thing I think sectors are going to increasingly come up against, as they replace experience with prompt design. Without an understanding of the expected outcome, which comes from years of learning and developing, it's not possible to check validity or efficiency.
Nuance aside, nothing has ever provoked a desire in me to reclaim my lapsed Catholicism more than seeing Pope Leo go up against Trump, Vance, and the US Christian Far Right.
Wow. Just... wow. π
I had an amazing time seeing Tori Amos last night, but I wish I could've cloned myself and also gone to that Prodigy gig. It looked epic! (despite it being in the Hydro)
I loved that she did that, rather than not play it anymore.
This. When I worked with an immigration detention charity, some of the reports I read of the 'verification' process LGBTQ+ asylum claimants were required to go through were *horrific*. (And often subsequently denied anyway, due to a 'lack of evidence' that was impossible to provide.)
All of this, plus @thestorygraph.com as a reading tracker. π₯°
I would feel really disheartened if I learned that someone I asked to be my referee, based on what they knew of me, had outsourced that to their pet AI.
question: are there historians working at the intersection of science, med, and enviro centering the study of allergies? like a burgeoning field of critical allergy studies?
I've been wanting to write on plantation forestry in postwar Japan and the hist of hay fever, and I'm looking for inspiration

This is obviously the Most Correct Answer.
This sounds like it might be worth the time, so I've bookmarked it for later. π
I hope you have the best time! π
