Day 9: A villain. The series has many to pick from, but I'll go with the Shadowlords from Ultima V. Mysterious and creepy, they spooked me as a kid playing the game for the first time.

I feel like I wasn't able to do enough when it really mattered but hopefully the little bit I could do made a little bit of difference. 💓

Day 8: A father. Presumably the dad of Brother Antos and Sister Antos, Father Antos is an important if minor recurring character. Here he is in Ultima IV.

Day 7, a witch. There aren't really "witches" in the traditional sense in Ultima, but Rotoluncia from Serpent Isle is nicknamed "The Red Witch" and fits the bill.

Day 4: A ghost. There are many choices in the Ultimaverse, but I'll go with the unsolved mystery Quenton.

A completely sensical representation of a completely non-sensical concept: that the universe is full of holes that move around at different times, and can transport you to other holes in history.

I'm challenging myself to think of an Ultima character that fits each category without looking it up beforehand. A trivia thing for me! 😄

Found out tonight (thanks to @paradiseregaind.bsky.social!) that Origin Systems put out a screensaver pack in 1993 for Windows 3.0/3.1.

As a Wing Commander fan since the first game, I definitely wanted to check out the WC commander stuff that comes with it, and yeah, pretty nifty.

Ultima IV. Originally for the Apple ][+ but ported everywhere in it's day. There's even a version on the NES.

Similarly, that's what the Ultima Nitpick site was for. Some took it as Everything Wrong with Ultima (as a certain well-known youtuber got a lot of his material from the site) but for those of us who contributed, it was out of love. You can both enjoy a property and have fun finding its flaws.
