We were far & away the better side but just couldn't score. Shared points with the Eagles. Still not safe & going to the wire. #WHU #COYI

So much fun at @camraofficial.bsky.social members' weekend 🍺

Great to catch up with friends + to talk on @beerwithtim.bsky.social panel yesterday!

The cherry on the cake; a saunter round St Albans Museum's Historic Inns exhibit + a new book from the gift shop, Ale City by @rogerprotz.bsky.social 😄

Brewdog failure leaves Lords cricket ground with large debt & West Ham FC with a much smaller one In 2024 Lords Cricket Ground took the perhaps surprising step of announcing Brewdog has their beer partner for the ground in the 2025 season. Reportedly things went well and 750,000 pints were sold…

I’m in iWeekend today with a pick of pubs by railway stations. And right now I just happen to be on a train!

Debate: Revival of @camraofficial.bsky.social #GreatBritishBeerFestival in right location.
Losses: GBBF, annual national celebration of British brewing industry, attracting celebrities, politicians. National attention for cask ale, coverage TV, radio & press. Major focus for #ChampionBeerofBritain

Something weird is going on there!

1 day ago 1 0 0 0

I must say this is not something I've come across but will let you know if I do, & how it's priced!

Some cask breweries are actually doing quite well, other beer fests going ahead. GBBF missed though.

Yes, me too. Definitely see you in September. Good luck to your Potteries branch, news/events always welcome!

Even more good stuff with it!

Sadly my motion was lost. Let's hope the review next year will find a way to a slimmed down GBBF, showcase for Cask, campaigning tool for CAMRA. The packed glory days of Olympia, rebuilt & unsuitable, & Earls Court, now housing, are over.

Attended @camraofficial.bsky.social AGM/conference earlier. Voted for @rogerprotz.bsky.social motion calling for a new look at the Great British Beer Festival at 2027 conference. There is a balance of risk & campaigning ambition. Anyway now for a Porter @popnhops.bsky.social

I think punters did find GBBF unique - for many, unique enough for repeat international travel to the annual gathering.

Looking forward to lively debates & seeing friends old & new @camraofficial.bsky.social AGM Members Weekend today, here in my home town of St Albans where CAMRA started. I'm moving a motion to restore GBBF asap.

I'm down for a book signing at lunch time today but can take time to go & have drink/chat or after that. I'm trying to move a motion today too but don't know what time. Fingers crossed. See you later!

It's the CAMRA Members Weekend in St Albans. CAMRA needs to have a presence here! @rogerprotz.bsky.social is doing a great job, and my branch @camrapotteries.bsky.social is there. Time to ditch X and come to where the sky is blue.

The Ferry Inn, Oxney. GBG✅ First visit here for 20 years or so. My friend Tony had his honeymoon here in the winter of 1978. Bleak. Not on the GBG app any longer but the house beer was pretty decent. A Goachers hybrid you often find in Kent. Food smelled good. Bar blockers were annoying.
