My colleagues and I took an oath to uphold a legislative process that is fair, transparent, and grounded in truth. When a company financially incentivizes testimony—and then fails to disclose it before a committee of the Pennsylvania House—that crosses a serious ethical line.
Pay-to-play politics has absolutely no place in our legislative process. Offering $50 gift cards to customers so they’ll show up and testify in favor of your company is not just inappropriate, it’s a legitimate insult to the integrity of our democracy.
Housing determines whether families can stay rooted in their communities or get priced out.
Thank you to Governor @joshshapiropa.bsky.social for putting forward a serious, urgent plan to tackle our housing shortage head-on.
Let's to work.

At the direction of the Trump administration, ICE is inflicting danger, violence, and division in our neighborhoods under the guise of law and order. When these federal agents operate with impunity, the consequences are fatal.
Stop the tyranny. End the killings. Abolish ICE.
Patients and providers in PA have faced harassment and violence for decades simply for accessing reproductive care. With FACE Act violators pardoned, intimidation is being emboldened. I’m calling for a state-level FACE Act to protect patients, providers, and public safety.
Neighbors deserve safety and transparency. I’m working on short-term rental legislation to create countywide registries, require clear accountability, and give communities real tools to address problem properties. Housing policy is public safety policy.

(2/3) The lack of clear guardrails governing how these properties are used has created dangerous and unnecessary chaos. That is why @repmaryjodaley.bsky.social and I will introduce legislation to create clear, statewide rules for safety and accountability.
(3/3) This legislation will set baseline safety standards, clarify oversight, and ensure that local governments and first responders know who is operating these properties and how to reach them—so communities are better protected and tragedies like this are far less likely to occur.
(1/3) Unregulated short-term rentals are putting our communities at risk. The recent Northside incident—just blocks from the site of a deadly 2022 Airbnb party—shows why we need action. www.wesa.fm/politics-gov...
Standing in solidarity with the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh workers as they head back into the Post-Gazette newsroom after 3 years on strike. Their commitment to fair working conditions and quality local journalism never wavered.
Their perseverance is proof that when we fight, we win.
Two people stand side by side in an office. On the left is a man wearing a dark zip-up sweater, a white shirt, tan pants, and brown shoes. On the right is a woman wearing a loose gray sweater, a light scarf, black pants, and black heels. Both are smiling. A framed district map hangs behind them, and office furniture and display shelves are visible around them. The man is Congressman Chris Deluzio, and the woman is State Representative Lindsay Powell.
Congressman Deluzio is a patriot who serves with integrity and puts our communities first. If Republicans are serious about confronting the rhetoric that fuels political violence, they might want to start with their president.
My Open Doors Resource Fair is happening TOMORROW from 10am to 2pm at the Goodwill in Lawrenceville. Free community resources, children's clothing & household items, and a Giant Eagle gift card giveaway. Call my office at (412) 781-2750 to let us know you're coming!
The federal shutdown is hurting our neighbors. Starting Nov. 1, more than 2 million Pennsylvanians could lose access to SNAP benefits, threatening food security for families and seniors.
This isn’t politics, it’s people’s lives. My office is here to help.
No one should face fear or intimidation when seeking care. HB 670, my state-level FACE Act, protects access to reproductive healthcare in PA—because these rights are human rights.
Thank you @repmcclinton.com for sharing the Speaker’s rostrum during yesterday’s session. Always an honor to serve as Speaker Pro Tempore & help guide meaningful work in the PA House.
PA’s housing crisis demands action—aging infrastructure, rising costs, and too few affordable options. That’s why I helped launch the first-ever bipartisan Housing Caucus to advance commonsense solutions for families across the Commonwealth.
House Dems passed real transit funding—sustainable, recurring, no new taxes, and $600M for roads/bridges. Senate Rs blocked it. Thanks to Gov. Shapiro & PennDOT, PRT got a $106.7M stopgap to avoid cuts & fare hikes, but without long-term funding, riders stay at risk.
🧵(4/4) For riders across Allegheny County, transit isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline. We’ve bought some time. Now we need to finish the job.
🧵(3/4) But let’s be clear: this is a stopgap, not a solution. Shifting capital dollars to cover operating expenses keeps buses on the road today but delays the maintenance and upgrades that ensure reliability tomorrow.
🧵(2/4) I’m grateful to the Shapiro administration & PennDOT for acting quickly to protect riders. More than $100 million in state funds will be used to close the immediate deficit PRT is facing, averting a proposed 35% service cut and 9% fare increase.
🧵(1/4) I’m relieved that Pittsburgh Regional Transit will avoid devastating service cuts and fare hikes in the near term. No one should lose their bus to work, a ride to school, or a connection to medical care because of a budget impasse.
Graphic with beige background and black text featuring a 9/11 remembrance message from Pennsylvania State Representative Lindsay Powell. The text reads: “Today we pause to remember the horror of September 11, 2001; the thousands of lives lost, and the selfless courage of firefighters, EMS, police, recovery workers, and all first responders who ran toward danger so others could live. But remembrance isn’t enough. Decades later many of those heroes are still paying the price. Exposure to toxic dust, smoke, debris and lifelong trauma has led to chronic respiratory disease, cancer, PTSD, and other illnesses among tens of thousands who survived that day. Today is more than a marker of tragedy—it is a reminder: as Americans, we owe a debt of care. If we ask people to run toward what frightens us, to serve in harm’s way, then we must ensure that the systems meant to protect them do not fail them. Let’s honor the fallen not just with words, but with resolve: to legislate, to act, and to care for those who risked everything so we might have peace.” At the bottom right is Rep. Lindsay Powell’s logo, which includes a stylized bridge illustration, the words “District 21,” and text reading “Lindsay Powell, State Representative.”
Today we remember the lives lost on 9/11 and honor the first responders, firefighters, and service members who ran toward danger to keep us safe.
Too many still face broken systems when they need care. We must do better—for our first responders, and for one another.
Having a seat at the table isn’t a privilege—it’s a right. I’m proud to support the Advanced Practice RNs at Magee-Womens Hospital as they join their RN colleagues in unionizing for quality care, safe staffing, and fair pay.
Congratulations to the nurses at UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital and @seiuhcpa.org on winning your union! Proud to stand in solidarity with you as you fight for better care for every patient.
I look forward to @upmc.com's cooperation and immediate recognition of this union without delay.
Grateful to @cityandstatepa for the chance to talk about the work I’m doing to expand housing access, uplift communities, and fight for a more equitable PA.

Try handing in a project 24 days late at your job. See how that goes. As of today, that's exactly how late Senate Republicans are with the state budget... no regard for the deadline yet still collecting a paycheck.
The PA House just passed our bill to fund home repairs for low-income homeowners, including seniors and folks with disabilities—building on the success of the Whole Home Repairs program. Over 18,000 applicants are still waiting.
Next stop: the Senate.
Had the joy of meeting Sam—a kind & hilarious kid whose family found support at the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center. From medical care to foster & adoption services, they’re a lifeline for families. I’ll keep fighting for the resources they deserve.
