I miss the Hackett era Genesis personally. And Tony Banks mellotron of course.🙂

The history of blues music wouldn't be complete unless you include some of the rude, crude, and offensive songs from the rowdy roaring 20s. One song that comes to mind is Lucille Bogen's Till the Cows Come Home. It's on YT but be aware that it's extremely offensive and Naughty. Listen if you dare.

You’re fortunate as I’ve never been able to see him in concert. I’ll bet it was terrific.

Richard Harris MacArthur Park
Richard Harris MacArthur Park

This may not be the 1st prog pop song, but it is the best imo. Jimmy Webb wanted to include this as part of a Cantata he was working on but The Association (band) turned him down.

Agreed and I’m sure he had a large part in that distinctive Procol sound.

Glad to hear it. I never missed their tours back in the 60s and 70s up until their 1st breakup. They always put on a great show.

Continuing my love for Procol Harum, here is a creepy and Gothic song before Gothic was a thing. Enter if you Dare!

I knew they were still periodically making records under the Strawbs moniker but wasn’t aware he retired from performing. Sorry to hear about his health.😢

So true, but I loved their sound.

Their performance was terrific, just disappointed in the size of the crowd.

Love Strawbs but they never clicked with the record buying public in the states. Only got to see them 1 time. So disappointing.😖
