My husband is a teacher who almost certainly has ADHD and has noted that it would be great for students if more people with ADHD made it as teachers, but college education departments are definitely geared towards neurotypicals. I'm guessing schooling for therapists is similar!
100% agree
And to be fair, most of basketball season is during the worst time of year to be in Milwaukee
Can confirm it IS a delight (it was an unexpected perk when we decided to try this countertop dishwasher from Amazon)
The Adoration of the Wieners (Carnitas, Denied), iPhone and unexpectedly good lighting, 2026
Ones I remember: a salmon hatchery, a submarine museum, the end of the Oregon Trail, a hike in a temperate rainforest, and a camping trip where we climbed Mt. St. Helens (I do love Milwaukee, but I see will never forgive modern America for pricing me out of living in the PNW as an adult)
Here: a cruddy marker self-portrait that I will cherish when I am old
Someone needs to force me to make art and then put it in a drawer without showing anyone because I am going through old art that was too much work to post but is bringing me a lot of joy to rifle through now and I haven't made anything lately to bring me cheer the next time I go through all my crap
In case anyone else is ailing of February, a good cure is watching Paddington 1 and/or 2 (I haven't seen the third one to speak on it, will have to get on that also)
I honestly couldn't tell if you were just making stuff up or not, I learned something
My toxic trait is that I always picture John Waters whenever people talk about John Carpenter because I am too much of a Coward to watch horror films and haven't actually seen any John Carpenter works (and I think I legit thought they were the same person for awhile and was v. confused about it)
(Also, as long as your baby isn't in an overly mobile stage, just be prepared to hold her and let her sleep on you. Flying with a kid who has just learned how to walk is hard mode tho, they just want to go out into the aisle the whole time so you'll have to work to keep them distracted)
My tips: baby carrier through the airport, applesauce pouches to ease takeoff/landing (or bfeeding/a bottle if applicable), full array of snacks (fruit, crackers, cheese, and meat are great!) and stuff to do like those Melissa and Doug reusable sticker boards is generally good but so are screens tbh
Yes, exactly!
I dunno if this is actually sound, but my parenting philosophy is to not really care how much my kids play videogames that tell stories because I have always been drawn to them from a storytelling perspective and I feel like it's more similar to reading a novel than watching a movie ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯
Any tips on fitting brushing teeth in when you usually eat on the way? Maybe it's normal to brush before breakfast but I always feel weird about it and it's pretty much just the potential judgment of others that gets me to remember to do it and that social awareness hasn't kicked in for my kids yet
The answer was not the point. The answer was never the point. The process of searching is the process of learning.
Guess you'll have to make your own cool sticker to cover it up with 😎
QRTing so I can watch this later, thx
I NEED more Mystery Cuddlers, like, biologically
And every day for the last 30 years I’ve thought about this scene.
The Three Sisters Bakery at Pike Place Market in Seattle has a meatloaf sandwich on fresh-baked rosemary bread that I literally dreamed about a few weeks ago, it is my favorite
it’s time
Not the same thing but this banger is now running in my head www.instagram.com/reel/DNgtT3S...
I have four kids, 3 of them have summer birthdays and all refused to wear the costumes I made for them when they were 2, can confirm it is an age. (The 4th has a March birthday and happily wore the hotdog costume she picked out to trick or treating tonight.)
I saw this clip and then watched the whole film without subtitles and was enthralled; bless the internet archive
Laughed out loud as I came across this in the bottom of the 13th inning of a harrowing Mariners playoff game
A picture of a marker recreation of the wholesome chubby Pikachu from the original Pikachu card, held by the artist over a dirty living room carpet
My October Drawing Challenge Hot Take is that I have been conditioned to be in the mood to make drawings with brush pens in October, and I am going to follow that mood where it takes me (but I'm not going to take nice pictures)
Spent my afternoon rereading Barbarous after this update went up, no regrets, so much lore, so many hot people
