With all due respect, there's nothing more Canadian than complaining about the weather 😅
FYI if you’re talking about the #Artemis II mission and you want to get the spaceflight terminology right, the mission is “crewed,” not “manned.” (NASA made the terminology change official decades ago, so this isn’t new, but a lot of folks just aren’t aware.)
If you aren't blocked, you should report @velocity69.bsky.social.
They seem to have a history of this. Here they are using footage from 2016 to misrepresent something happening last September, then blocking people who tried to point out what they were doing.
Someone with the handle @velocity69.bsky.social is sharing a video with the caption:
"The highest quality video of the moon was just released…
so beautiful
* Artemis II"
It's gone viral, but it's not from Artemis II. If you've shared it, you might want to un-share.
One of the problems with people not sharing things with attribution, AI etc is that we (rightly) don’t trust things that are real. This picture is making the rounds today and I’ve seen multiple ppl say it is fake. It isn’t!!!!

Given all the Bluesky server flailing the past couple of days, I am putting my suggestion for a mascot back out there.

Anyone familiar with the details of how iCloud stores raw images in the cloud vs iPhoto storing them locally? Captured with Halide on my iPhone, I'll find both a .dng and .heic in iPhoto on my laptop. Pulling files from the cloud for a local backup, I find a single .heic the same size as local .dng?

I found a style guide for writing from the air force academy officer training program while cleaning out some folders. It’s decades old, encourages simple language, like not using “fatuous numbskull” when “jerk” will do

Since the toilets on Orion are a continuing topic of fascination, here's a thread about space toilets. It's not just about function - toilets are symbolic and social too, and raise issues of privacy and intimacy. This image shows how to use the Apollo Fecal Containment Device.

The price of lithium-ion batteries has fallen by 99% since 1991 Representative estimate of the price of battery cells for lithium-ion batteries, across all major cell chemistries. Prices are in US dollars per kilowatt-hour, adjusted for inflation.
At a time when everything seems bad, here’s a bit of good news. In 1991, lithium-ion batteries cost around $9,200 per kilowatt-hour — 33 years later, they cost just $78. This helps us move towards electrification of transport and energy storage in homes

Newspaper headline: "Sex slave Woman wanted for burglary" "A woman who had five pitbull puppies cloned in South Korea is wanted in Tennessee on burglary charges, lawyers there said today. Joyce McKinney, 58, was accused of telling a 15-year-old boy to burgle a house to raise cash to buy a false leg for a horse. She fled Britain in 1977 to avoid trial for allegedly abducting a Mormon missionary and making him her sex slave."

Les astronautes d'Artemis II vieillissent-ils moins pendant le tour Terre-Lune ?
Intuition immédiate : vitesse → relativité restreinte → vieillissent moins.

People (and red pandas!) always are curious about the food astronauts eat, so NASA put out this handy graphic:
