I eventually dragged myself out of bed and went for a walk. Within about ten minutes I saw a mallard bring chased around by three little ducklings and was in floods of tears again.
Can only imagine that everyone I passed in the subsequent hour thought I was coming apart at the seams.
I've spent most of today lying in bed crying about different things.

The moment you tell a minority group that their existence, and how they’re allowed to exist within society, is up for debate, is the moment you silence that group and remove their freedoms. This sort of policy doesn’t protect free speech, it just forces the silence of victims of bigotry.

I remember when the LGB Alliance first formed and they were almost universally mocked - the name itself makes it very clear what they’re doing! It’s not subtle! Now we have Scottish Labour MPs speaking at their conference.

I get the temptation to assert trans people's existence at any opportunity but ESPECIALLY with regards to the Stonewall Riot specifically because bigots have worked extremely hard to erase our contributions towards LGBTQIA+ liberation. In part as a means of claiming we're totally new.
One thing that a lot of trans people have been doing (esp trans women) is silently dropping out of public life. The MSG is obviously extreme but the panopticon of pressure trans ppl experience in a heavily surveilled America is a lot. Safer to just stay home, forfeit public life
I'm sorry, but this is utterly unacceptable from Stonewall's new Chair. And entirely unnecessary. Nothing is gained from this except communicating to trans people that Stonewall does not care about them.
The fact that Kezia Dugdale is saying “things could go backwards” when trans people are already losing their human rights tells you absolutely everything you need to know about Stonewall and Kezia Dugdale.
It tells you exactly who they care about, and who doesn’t matter.
