Ok serious question from a hobbyist artist who has been winging it for years:
How do people use these references? I get that you pose it how you want but then do people trace over it? Or just try to copy it by eye? Or is everyone secretly winging it?

My first attempt at drawing an angel (at least since I was a teenager anyway). Funnily enough I’m working on another angel that’ll be revealed soon…
