"TFC", which was an older standalone version of the emulator recovered in the Gigaleak. Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong JR, Balloon Fight, and Mario Bros are all playable.
a big 🫡 to the beginning of Nintendo's efforts to emulate their older consoles.
(Tomohiro Kawase notably programmed the NES emulator for Nintendo 64 as far back as 1999, Animal Crossing was just the first commercial project to use it.)
the famed logo in question.
RAINBOW SIX and Red Storm Entertainment both came into being during the same week. When the company was formed in the fall of 1996, the first thing that we did was to spend a weekend brainstorming game ideas. That initial design session generated over a hundred possibilities that we then winnowed down to a handful that we thought had star potential. The only one that we unanimously agreed we had to build was HRT - a game based on the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team. It was a long road from HRT to RAINBOW Six, but along the way, the basic outline of the title changed very little. We knew from the start that we wanted to capture the excitement of movies such as Mission: Impossible and The Dirty Dozen - the thrill of watching a team of skilled specialists pull off an operation with clockwork precision. We also knew that we wanted it to be an action game with a strong strategic component - a realistic shooter that would be fun to play even without a QUAKE player's twitch reflexes. From that starting point, the title seemed to design itself. By the time we'd finished the first treatment a few weeks later, all the central game-play features were in place.
big news for fans of the legendary "Tom Clancy's Trans Daughter" logo.
the working title for the original Rainbow Six game was "HRT", supposedly it means "Hostage Rescue Team" but do you really believe that?

FYI the description for Heavenly Sword is wrong, it actually leaked in 2008.
i've been trying to get a news source to mention that so the article could be fixed. but i've had no luck so far.

there WAS meant to be an Arwing amiibo, but Nintendo rejected it due to child safety concerns

the ID "05B0" was assigned to it, which works in both Super Mario Maker and Star Fox Zero (though it functions the same as Falco's there) by hacking a released one with that ID

the final build uses a similar concept, but is still drastically different.

the title screen. the "1987 2006 Konami" copyright date is the smoking gun, as the version included in both the HD Collection & Master Collection Vol. 1 changes it.

still baffled by the fact @gog.com has what appears to be a previously unreleased standalone Windows version of the original Metal Gear, built off the same mobile phone port that the build in Subsistence used.

the Pikachu's stats.
actually linking it up with a (Japanese) copy of Diamond & Pearl gives you a level 5 (no custom name) Pikachu captured by Nintendo themselves. With Thunder Shock, Tail Whip, and Growl as it's moves.
the "base" Nintendo DS rom file Nintendo used to make event Pokemon in the Generation 4 games.
there's an app for designing custom event carts too in the same portion of the Gigaleak, but you'd need a Japanese build of Windows to use it.

two issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly and an internal Mindscape document about the Ultra 64.
a closer view of the blurb in the Mindscape document, revealing it referred to their recent acquisition of Atreid Concepts. ""Pac-In-Time" for six platforms ▼ Nintendo may distribute Game Boy version in Europe ▼ SNES version among most highly rated in Japan ▼ Will be on the stand at Shoshinka show"
not sure how i should feel about TWO separate gaming outlets in the 90s somehow misspelling Nintendo's Shoshinkai trade show as "Shoshinka".

Mobile Light Force
Mobile Light Force 2, the logo is BLUE now.
still not as bad as XS games trying to bury the classic shmups "Gunbird" and "Castle of Shikigami" by giving them BOTH identical covers that have nothing to do with the actual games.
the output situation. the standard Echo power adapter, a MicroUSB to USB port that also needs it's own power cable, and a headphone port that's now blocked by the USB flash drive.
MAME4droid (0.139u1) running Dig Dug II on the device while flipped on it's side. the miniature wireless bluetooth controller i'm using is directly below it. the screen isn't completely filled, but it still looks better than just using a non-rotated 16;9 display.
yes, this is an Amazon Echo Show 5. clearly not designed for anything other than the stock os.
only 3 gigabytes of storage, the microUSB port needs an extra adapter for power, rotating the screen requires an app, and the latest version of MAME doesn't install.
the end result looks neat tho
the smart devices they give you while waiting at a restaurant sure have gotten interesting....

oops!
someone at Disney forgot to update the Movies Anywhere pamphlet to remove mention of the Microsoft Movies & TV store, which shut down back in July 2025.
At Bethesda, we’ve been lucky enough to create games we love, and have an audience who loves them as much as we do. I have personally been humbled by the many industry honors I have received, as they belong to the entire studio. But one has always stood out to me for a special reason. When I received the Lifetime Achievement Award at GDC, I joked in my acceptance “I wonder how many achievement points this one is worth?” At the end of the ceremony, some good friends from Microsoft congratulated me and said they’d find out. A few months later I was given a code to a game they had created, named after me and locked to my account. When ran, it unlocks a single achievement - “Lifetime - 1000pts.” It still sits in my list when I check, and I smile every time.

the original prototype for Shantae Advance also nabbed various sound effects from Sonic Advance, which is why they never (officially) posted it online.
of note, the "Deathwish" subtitle didn't exist in the build that accidentally replaced Robocop: Rogue City on Steam for a few hours.
