And there needs to be something equivalent for social media posts. Like, everyone who read the original untruth should get a notification that there is a correction

Make the apology always front page however trivial. Thatโd concentrate minds.
Yes, in the same way that newspaper corrections should have the same prominence as the original article
Rejoin is coming: Talk of the customs union and single market is a distraction. Only full membership offers a compelling vision of Britain's future

Robert Fico, the corrupt pro-Kremlin Prime Minister of Slovakia, is clearly worried by Orban's fall in Hungary.
He's trying to rig the electoral system in his favour, but many people in Slovakia aren't happy about this.
Things may be about to get interesting.

Vic (62), endorsed by Trump, JD Vance and Farage is fresh from running a midโsized Central European country and now wants to bring his unique brand of corruption to your local ward. He's a perfect fit for Farage's future Britain. Vote Reform get this...
BBC News headline Sunday 12 April 2026 "Viktor Orban concedes with Hungarian opposition on course for landslide election win".
The news we've waiting to hear๐พ๐ญ๐บ๐ช๐บ
Viktor Orban has conceded defeat, and Peter Magyar will be Hungary's next Prime Minister.
A great day Hungary and all European democrats!
A terrible day for Putin, Trump, Le Pen, Farage, and corrupt autocrats everywhere!

That's just what happens when you look at an old tweet (or a post any social media platform, for that matter). Old text, current name/mugshot.
Trump, Putin, Farageโฆ your boy took a hell of a beating.
Congratulations to the people of Hungary for showing that populist extremists can be defeated โ even despite Donald Trumpโs best efforts.
Hungary, welcome back ๐ญ๐บ๐ช๐บ
This is a turning point for Europe. The times of autocratic backsliding must be over. We look to a brighter and united future.
Defending rule of law, freedom and democracy.
Tonight, we celebrate in the streets of Budapest.
This was an ideological victory. Pรฉter Magyar is no liberal, but he is pro-European. Voters utterly rejected Orban's relentless campaign of hatred against Ukraine and Brussels.
Parallels with Frost and co walking into the Brexit negotiations with not so much as a piece of paper, and expecting to sort everything out over a cup of tea
This is appalling. How on earth can the trip planned by King Charles possibly go ahead after this?
Screenshot of Democracy Volunteers website claiming they aim to report on their observations in a "constructive and encouraging way to benefit the delivery of democracy"
Has anyone looked into what this mysterious "Democracy Volunteers" organisation is? Never heard of it before this incident! Are they really unbiased? The manner of their announcement was not in keeping with the claims on their website

My grandmother lived in a fishing community when she was a young woman, and she absolutely instilled in me the importance of puncturing the eggshell. I have done it all my life. Of course she knew, and I know, it's just a harmless bit of silly mythology. Or... Is it? ๐ค๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
"It's not fair of environmentalists to point out that in addition to being finite resources that are actively destroying the planet, fossil fuels also leave us at the mercy of fragile supply and logistics chains significantly controlled by autocrats in geopolitically chaotic parts of the world."
... STV, meaning multi-member constituencies. Ran out of character limit to write that.
Excellent piece by Ian Dunt on voting systems. Arguably a good voting system would elect not the most popular candidate, but the least unpopular one - i.e. the candidate that most voters are content with. Ranked choice voting can do that, and if implemented as STV can give decent proportionality too
Landmark case.
We've won the UK's first ever SLAPP suit - acting for @danneidle.bsky.social - and made some really important law protecting the right to call out barristers whose misconduct facilitates aggressive tax avoidance.

I don't think they care. They relish being monsters. It's their entire identity and self-image. Irrational evil religious lunatic monsters
I'm surprised they didn't change it to Patriotic Great British Gallons
Tim Shipman accused me the other day of not knowing how to โpolitical journalism worksโ.
Well, the modus operandi is clear for all to see. Unattributed briefings to channel, without responsibility, whatever undeclared agenda a source or political journalist wants to pursue
Never underestimate the eagerness of our press to abase and disgrace themselves for foreign billionaires
Excerpt from Democracy Volunteers website that says: "We aim to report on our observations in a constructive and encouraging way to benefit the delivery of democracy and to benefit the electorate as a whole"
They need to read their own mission statement
Wouldn't it be interesting to know how many of these absolute racist arseholes unironically self-identity as "Christians"
That is where their real pernicious influence lies now
