For Keir Starmer to talk of national resilience and ignore nature is absurd | Letters Letters: Responding to an article by the PM, Caroline Lucas says he must be clearer about climate risks, Molly Scott Cato says we must reverse Brexit and Dr Victor Ajuwon applauds Labour’s directness....

Extraordinary that nowhere in an article on resilience did PM find space to include the growing threat posed to UK security by the dramatic decline in the health of nature around the world - especially since his own intelligence chiefs have recently spelt it out for him in no uncertain terms 👇

I believe it’s based on the theory that children struggle to concentrate if they are hungry, but if that’s the case, give all children free school meals. That would help more.
This is just more performance politics

He was not willing to put in the time. He wanted a quick win and could not take an amicable mutual agreement.

Any peace talks notoriously are long. They require patience and real diplomacy.

Wes Streeting accused of dog whistle politics over campaign letter Labour minister calls independents 'divisive' and 'focused on foreign conflicts'

This is why no one trusts Wes Streeting.

He tells his friend Peter Mandelson in private Israel have committed war crimes, while in public making divisive dog whistling comments about people who have the courage to stand against those war crimes.

‘Basics’ of life in Britain have been sold for profit, says Polanski Exclusive: England and Wales Greens leader outlines economic policy including help to meet rising energy costs and water re-nationalisation

Inequality isn’t inevitable. It’s the result of decades of privatisation and deregulation. The Greens offer an alternative, where working people don't struggle to afford the basics, and have warm homes, cheap bills and good lives.

People are saying Trump has achieved nothing in this war, but I think that is unfair.
So far he has:
- blown up a girls' school
- lost all of his bases in the Gulf
- lost of his radars and air defences
- got Tel Aviv wrecked
- handed control of the Strait of Hormuz to
Iran
- increased global oil prices
- lifted sanctions on Russia to lower those oil prices
Personally, I think this is brilliant

And he’s setting China up to take over the reigns of power because the rest of the world is sick of America.

Len Deighton, spy novelist and author of The Ipcress File, dies aged 97 British writer brought wit, realism and class consciousness to cold war espionage fiction, reshaping the genre in the 1960s * Len Deighton obituary Len Deighton, the British author whose subversive spy novels helped redefine the genre in the 1960s, has died aged 97. Best known for his debut, The Ipcress File, Deighton went on to write more than 30 books over a career spanning four decades, establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in postwar fiction. His work, often compared to that of John le Carré, combined meticulous research with wit and sharp observations about class and bureaucracy. Continue reading...

"Following the strikes on Iran,
Israel has expanded their ground campaign in Lebanon, displacing a million people throughout the country and seemingly preparing for prolonged occupation of southern Lebanon.

Trump has intensified his threats against Cuba following the collapse of the island nation's energy grid under a US-imposed oil blockade, declaring just yesterday that he believes he will ‘take’ the country and ‘could do anything [he] want[s] with it.

This cannot continue."
