8 sparklings, 4 countries. Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK. This likely was one of the first if not the first tasting of these wines in Poland. Thanks to SPOT. for hosting the event!
I'm looking forward to exploring this topic with the Polish audience more. There's more to tell.

Share your thoughts later! I'd love to meet Bruno one day. I haven't visited De Boe yet, nor Kleine Schorre nearby (which I also have stashed for another tasting).
This time it's Domein Holset, Wijndomein De Boe from the Netherlands, and Cruysem & Domaine du Chenoy from Belgium. I have a few others stashed for the near future, as I plan to continue exploring this topic.
I'm thrilled to soon present two masterclasses on cool climate sparklings, exploring wines from Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and — of course! — the Polish ones. Quite likely for the first time in Poland. And quite likely not the last. The first bottles are here already, more to come!

Reds were outnumbered 5 to 1 at the Grafenegg tastings but more than held their own.

A captivating listen - as always if it's Jancis who's speaking to the mic.
Quoting after @teamdb.bsky.social, Richard Hemming MW describes it as “the definitive story of Jancis’s life so far”, a chronicle not only of her professional ascent but also of the people and passions that made it possible.
The promise of AI chat assistants: they solve 90% of the problems users have (by looking up the docs and telling them)
My reality: need to spend 10 minutes trying to get to a human, to solve an issue I need customer support to look into
Around minute 8 I sign up to a competitor
I have finally gotten myself a @decanter.com subscription. Should've done this sooner.
Barbadillo seems to be on top of their game. This one is fabulous, but so are many others.
Amazing (as well as otherworldly) to see the Polish wines 🇵🇱 of Kamil Barczentewicz now sold by the UK’s matchless @thewinesociety.bsky.social & garnering great reviews.

I take a look once in a while, but haven't posted for months. Out of Twitter-ish platforms, I'm only here now. Never looked back. However the traffic is visibly lower here, sadly.
Polish tech chaps, have you all gone back to X for good? It's awfully quiet in here and X is buzzing. Why?
My playing cannot be too bad if that's what Pixel thinks when I'm practicing. 😅
Yup! www.flightradar24.com/add-coverage - here you go! I'm using their own Debian image with everything installed, but configuring this should be straightforward on other systems as well!
Are you feeding to fr24 too? I've been running my ADS-B on a Pi for some years now and find the free business sub to fr24 a superb perk to have. Indispensable when travelling, apart from just being everyday fun.
In an unprecedented move, the Académie Internationale du Vin (AIV) is speaking out publicly against the threat of what it calls the “denormalisation” of wine initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in an open letter to the heads of government of all United Nations member states.
John Hoskins MW (Master of Wine) standing in front of a screen describing him as a Monster of Wine!
I thought I had passed all the exams so how am I just hearing about the Monster of Wine qualification?
Have you explain analyze'd it? My guess would be the query planner needs to go deeper than usual to make a good execution plan for it, despite limit 0. It shouldn't do the actual execution, but planning alone can be surprisingly expensive.
I see that often. In fact, I feel I'm guilty as charged in a microscale, just "doing my job" and not thinking it deserves of being talked about. Even if it indeed requires some bending and jumping through the hoops to go around NDAas safely, or - better yet - convincing all involved it's worth it.
A bottle of Blanc de Noirs intrigued me at a Grafenegg masterclass of Austria Sekt 🇦🇹 so I called the producer, Christian Madl to ask if I could visit him.
We ordered a bottle of Champagne. The staff flocked to our table to witness - "noone ever buys it", they said. "I never opened one, can I do it?", another waiter seconded. Little stories like this can make a place memorable, even if for the strangest of reasons. It was a lovely evening.

Welcome back! I know what I'll put on my running headphones then. 🐞 Looking forward to the series!
I might grow older, but my excitement about wax capsules certainly doesn't grow with me.
It’s officially here! @ladybug.dev is back! 🐞
Buckle in for the next 10 weeks as @emmabostian.bsky.social and I cover tons of important topics on engineering management.
Welcome to Season 7!

Achieving the Weinakademiker title and the WSET Diploma encouraged me to make a personal website about my wine stuff and collate everything under a single brand for the future. I also finally have some space to post my English writings that never fit anywhere before. I invite you to mati/wine ☺️
