Haha, yeah I've used a wall and sticky notes in the past. Which is part of why I also built a sticky notes tool into my app. But yours has the extra bonus of annoying your mom! LOL

I tend to use it most for science fiction. I hadn't considered it for debugging though. That would've come in handy when I was trying to figure out why my pdf rendering pipeline was so fragile LOL.

Who else uses mind maps for their stories? I don't always reach for one, but when the squirrels in my head start running amok, nothing tames the chaos quite like dumping it all out to look at.

I’m of the opinion that no, it is not strictly necessary in every type of story or scene. But, in my opinion, tension is. As long as you have a source of tension the story can be pulled forward.
