From Paul Krugman
“Whoever did this, there’s just no rational way you can blame this on “the left.”
Also, whatever motivated this murder, it’s simply a fact that over the past decade right-wing extremists have killed many more people than left-wing extremists:”

Presenting my poster on stigma and hoarding in #eabct2025
I’m in the Guardian today, arguing that we should stop them all-class mental health lessons in schools
I've thought very carefully about ‘going public’ with this, because it's a sensitive argument to make, especially in the face of so many young people struggling.

After 5 yrs in planning, our Lancet Commission on self-harm now published.
Self-harm affects millions of people globally, yet sadly it remains stigmatised & neglected. For too long, people who self-harm have not received the compassionate and tailored support that they deserve.

New Jama Psychiatry paper finds if your classmates have a mental disorder, you're more likely to get one later in life.
They conclude that mental disorders are *socially contagious*.
I think it's much more plausible that authors didn't control for all relevant confounders.

Will donate €200 to charity of your choice if we can identify the study where the brain image comes from. Journalists have used the PET scan image from some stock footage for decades, creating and perpetuating false / harmful impressions.
Fixing this starts w finding source.
Trying to figure out why #hoarding has historically been considered to be #OCD leads one to reading some really messed up stuff.

Gaza reports more than 11,100 killed. That’s one out of every 200 people.
One out of every 200 people in Gaza have been killed by the Israeli army — and the bombing still hasn’t stopped.
Let that sink in for a moment, then remember how Israeli authorities are trying to make Western publics believe they aren’t targeting civilians. This is a massacre.
