Surge in pensioners in temporary accommodation condemned as ‘moral catastrophe’ New figures showing the number of pensioners in temporary accommodation has nearly doubled in a year have been branded as a “moral catastrophe”.

The 90 per cent rise in pensioner homelessness is a moral catastrophe. It demands the £130m autumn budget capital funds being allocated to new social housing, and a statutory duty to prevent homelessness.
