Propeller Heaven
5/5. Very confusing at first, but once what is happening is revealed, it is really hard not to see it as something special.

If You Let Me Butcher That, Iโll Love You
4/5. Pretty good yuri oneshot. Impressive for a debut.
The cinematography in this film is really stellar as well.
The modified "Liberty Leading the People" painting is interesting here as well.
It's interesting how the Malduk "anti-robot" sentiment in the film is laundered through the concept of human rights.
Metropolis (2001) (dir. Rintaro)
5/5. Absolutely bombastic film. The scene where Tima realizes she is a robot is very well done.
Milk Closet (2000-2001)
4/5. Tomizawa really does excel in strange and unique aliens.
Love this moment. Great characterization for Crinn.
Honestly just amazed at this guy's scheming at this point. Do wonder how far he will go in supporting the insurgents for his own ends though.
a very showa retro-y fraw bow
Rereading Papa Told Me and Chise really does have that shit on at all times.
Decided to try out this trend.
Glad they went through with the insurgents losing here. Dougram does moments like this very well.
Love the plot of this episode, where even though they are most likely doomed in this battle, it has become too big for them to stop now.
I liked this new shot in the OP
Viy (1967)
4/5. Loved the practical effects in this
I love this sketch of Phos over the preliminary Party at the End sketches.

'Witch Hat Atelier'
So excited this got an anime ๐
#anime #witchhatatelier
I heard people saying that Quifrey taking Coco away was depicted much worse in the anime, but oh my god.
He lowkey deserved it though.
A Girl Who Will Die One Day
3/5. Short and sweet yuri about two girls trapped in horrible situations who are able to be there for each other.
Midori: The Camellia Girl (manga) (1983)
5/5. Despite the horrific abuse Midori endures, there is an interesting sort of sympathy for her. The art and paneling in this is also very good.
Metropolis (Osamu Tezuka) (1949)
4/5. First of Tezuka's works that I have read, and I love the style.
Saikano
5/5. Love the feelings present in this. One of the first sekaikeis I think I have read, and it certainly sets a high bar.
Night on the Galactic Railroad
4/5. Beautiful animation in this, and made me cry at one point. I could see the eventual twist coming from very early on, and it only made it hit harder when it happened.
Might be symbolic for what's about to happen. Leaving behind an already winning hand.
