Lost my dad to Covid in 2021, which also brought uncontrollable rage. Someone who just lost their mother last week asked me if it gets better. I said they live on Neptune now, and they’ll have to learn to live on Neptune, but it becomes livable. And then I said I cried over my dad yesterday.

Call me crazy, but I think Trae Young may have some thoughts about this…

That was the type of Hawks loss/Knicks win that should make New York very nervous for the rest of this series.
I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.
Bluesky's offices today:
I don't know who first said it, but film incentives are the heroin that Hollywood can't shake. The money is just too good. And that drug the CEOs can't deny themselves often destroys the lives of many of those around them.
Much love to the crews of Atlanta.
The Pope…
Hollywood has always been an unserious place for creators and artists of color and the way things have transpired here since the George Floyd “reckoning” means it can’t ever be trusted not to be an unserious place. We need to build our own shit outside of this system… deadline.com/2026/04/issa...
From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.
Octavia E. Butler, 1998:
The acting head of the CDC delayed the publication of a research report showing that the Covid vaccine significantly reduced the likelihood of hospitalizations and emergency visits last winter.
Exactly right
It has to involve some level of risk. It has to be disruptive to the thing you’re protesting against in order to force change. We learned the wrong lessons from the Civil Rights Movement. Yes, peaceful protest is the way, but those people also knowingly and intentionally put themselves in danger.
With the understanding that people have lives. With the understanding that it’s a lot to ask of anyone. With the understanding that many people, while aghast at what’s happening, can live their lives peacefully amidst atrocity…Too many people have no idea what effective protest actually is.
We’ve got action!
Remember that MLK said America suffers not just from "the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people."
I’m just tired of films that want to make some grand statement about “America” but don’t actually contend with the unique experiences of a good portion of the country’s population. Almost all of these films are specifically made by white male filmmakers.
Definition of a team loss.
Also, on the same play, Cameron could have held the ball and Dame could have held the ball. And 99 times of our 100, Cayden gets that pass down court to his wide open teammate and the game is still over. UConn played great defense and got a lucky tip. And the whole team blew the 19 point lead.
Not a Duke fan but this is trash @theathletic.com
Basketball is good
If only somebody online would tell me what a grave and alarming situation we are in as a country in a hostile and defensive tone. Only then would I have the conviction to personally stop the bad things.
Cockroach regime run by a cockroach.
Aday Mara killing my Alma mater but also I need him to be an Atlanta Hawk.

Going to sit here like a good Howard Alum and support my Bison through thick and thin.
As someone who grew up in Alpharetta and couldn’t wait to leave, this is very funny. 😂
I’ve often found myself in circles where I’m the only Black person, or maybe one of only a couple. And those circles will say, “well, we just don’t know any Black people.” As if Black people are leprechauns. It’s not hard to know Black people and it’s not hard to do it without being weird.
Exactly this…
Get Out was a documentary and very good… but at the same time, the way white liberals fawned over it also made me feel very uneasy….
