outages are kind of inevitable and while i’m about as anti-AI coding as they come i don’t think it’s necessarily leading to more outages.
i do, however, think it’s complicating outage recovery because no one understands the broken code that claude generated
it’s embarrassing as hell either way
replying is so broken its actually comical LMAOOOO
It depends where your PDS for atproto/bluesky resides.
Bluesky doesn't use Cloudflare.
(turns out trying to post while it's having issues doesn't go so great! im losing it)
says a for-profit company
maybe this is a hot take but I don't think we should be giving young people a >10k platform. i have never seen a case (even personally) where it's gone well. shrug
sometimes I feel like Bluesky is just becoming the new hell site
why are we now accusing new artists of being AI and driving them away because "e621 mods said so 🥺🥺🥺"
????
An anti-AI site promoting another anti-AI site that's building anti-AI tools by using AI to fight AI is so incredibly ironic
"It's not GenAI, it's machine learning" i wonder what using ML to manipulate an image is called
A screenshot of the Packbase search interface. The left sidebar shows search filters including a text field with "+rating_safe" entered, a username filter, sort options (Newest/Oldest buttons), and a date range picker with a "Clear filters" link. The main content area displays a masonry-style grid of mixed media posts, the results for the "+rating_safe" tag search. Posts include 3D renders of robots and game characters, memes featuring cats and cheeseburgers, gaming screenshots, a latte photo, abstract pink gradient art, and fan art of various animated characters.
Searching is now gallery-based and currently only searches Howls. While this shows everything, we'll rely on community members to correctly tag their howls to make searching content easily.
Let us know what you expect from gallery searching (or anything else!): packbase.app/contact/feed...
Due to NSFW rules, we'll will be migrating to a new host and semi-unavailable until the 18th March (AEDT)!
If you'd like, we'd appreciate the extra lil' help! On top of migrating the servers, we're also looking into becoming an incorp-assoc.: ko-fi.com/rekkisomo
Thanks! Alpha 11 changelog is soon!
Macrobank pleaseeee
i just realised we might be thinking of 2 different "togepi dudes" but we ball
or the wonder bread guy! both need to join hands for the greater good
anyone have ~USD$1mil to spare
To be fair I didn't expect kids to understand how work, well, works.
Freelancers aren't full company employees. The fact that he handed out severance at all (not req. for freelancing) is great, idk why "cancelling" over it is needed. How to not get yourself hired by any studio again in 1 easy step!
no way discord going "we're still doing the thing you hate but we want you to hate it a little less" actually worked. fym "we won"???? we won a couple months of not worrying about it and that's it 😭😭😭
all they really want is for you to forget this even happened until it starts back up again.
can't even blame people for not knowing it, either. Bluesky does a terrible job with telling you when registering. Give a list of known trusted PDS' to use! Don't just tell people they're registering on Bluesky's server LMAO
Bluesky is open source and federated.
Just thought people might need that reminder, considering the amount of people who think their data is at risk because there's no monetisation plan for here.
where did the title for this one go 😭
The more I use the official front-end the more I feel as if it's entirely AI generated. It shouldn't be this hard to make a "Ask for new email -> Confirm your old email -> Confirm your new email -> Re-authenticate -> Congrats! It's changed! Good job!" flow.
Bluesky makes it so easy to change your email. They'll send you 4 emails with incorrect codes in them, and then say that *you* are doing too many attempts. Clearly the issue is that I'm trying to change an email in the first place - silly me, I forgot being secure is a vanity. I give the UX a 10/10.
I've gone ahead and made this a task. I'm not sure if you're okay with linking to Bluesky as I got a notice about requiring sign ins, so I'll leave that private to collaborators for now (unless you don't mind)
It'll be tracked here: work.wildhq.org/T30
Packbase (or Wildbase as a whole) isn't going to be something I put on there. I feel like It was doomed from the start being furry focused and calling Twitter and Xhitter LOL.
I'm in a """fortunate""" enough spot experience-wise to take that hit.
Yeah, looking back at it now I should've called it differently. It's only labelled as something like that as Wildbase itself is a business (sole trader, though). The stat was there mostly to ensure people that my very very tiny team and I aren't going in completely blind.
It's been donation driven since the start, positive revenue is basically impossible which I'm fully fine with. It was there mostly for transparency, I planned on detailing it further with how we're spending people's donations as that's something I personally like as well! I'll plan on rewriting it.
The "External Partners" is mostly friends in the field who solely provide some guidance support and nothing else. They have no control over Packbase what so ever, nor do we owe them anything at any time.
(Albeit, last month is particularly high as we onboarded a few volunteers which has an upfront cost that im willing to cover. Our normal running cost is ~$80 but it doesn't communicate that properly. Again, I don't give a damn it's in the red, im doing this because i want a less shit place as well.)
Which browser settings is it ignoring? There's been a few reports with it disregarding motion settings, but I can look into fixing others as well. The leaderboard is just for fun, but I'll probably hide it as an easter egg.
I'll fund Packbase till the day I die, no matter how deep it goes.
