I'm sure it's doable but man, I was grateful to get back home. LA felt openly hostile to families with young kids a lot of the time we were there. Restaurants with no high chairs, hard to find diapers, people seemed exasperated with kids in a way they haven't been in other cities. Hats off to y'all!

Hey I'm sure that there are some great parks and I'll definitely hand it to you on the weather, but in the whole time we were there we never had a park we could walk to, we had to drive 30 minutes and try 4 stores to find a single pair of toddler shoes, and I never saw a mother's room or kids toilet

Kudos to you parents of young kids in LA.. I've lived in 8 cities across 3 countries and LA is easily the least child friendly place I've ever been. I was blown away how hard it was to find a playground and a pair of toddler shoes

Spoiler-free tidbit for your Love is Blind finale watch @minakimes.bsky.social (big fan of the pod!)- Devonta is a *classic* dismissive avoidant, which is an epidemic among Ohio men. I don't think his issues with Brittany have anything to do with race at all. www.simplypsychology.org/dismissive-a...

Obviously my Chris take here aged like milk, but otherwise I think my takes pretty much held up. Prediction for the finale: Vic and Christine and Amber and Jordan both say yes, nos from everyone else. I hope Mike and Emma stay together but probably not.

4. Jordan and Amber (lots of possible issues, but rooting for them)
5. Alex and Ashley (he's a walking red flag, run girl run)
6. Connor and Bri (this many issues right out of the pods? It's over)
7. Devonta and Brittany (zero chemistry and zero hope)

Okay. Love is Blind Season 10 power rankings, let's go -
1. Vic and Christine (locked in, unproblematic, no mess, love them)
2. Chris and Jessica (great chemistry, but he gives yellow flags)
3. Mike and Emma (just gotta survive the bombshell that he wasn't her 1st choice)
...

Haven't seen anyone else say it yet so I have to do it - Devonta on this new season of Love is Blind is a prototypical dismissive avoidant. Get this man some therapy, and I give them a 0% chance of making it

America's Super Bowl Wishlist:
- 3 Drake Maye turnovers
- Seahawks 50-burger
- Patriots score less than 10 points
- Whistle against the Patriots all game

Alternatively, I would accept a narrow Seahawks victory following a controversial call that haunts the Patriots fan base for a generation

Bluesky is really the best app to follow live spectator sports, you know, like the NFL playoffs, Australian Open, Unrivaled, or the New Yorker dropping a new Isaac Chotiner interview

The NFC championship was a barn-burner between the two best teams in the NFL and you simply cannot convince me otherwise

I would probably be able to look past Brady's commentating/ownership conflict of interest if he was at least a good commentator.
And if he wasn't Tom Brady.

Can't wait for the Seahawks to shut out the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Maybe give them 3 points for mercy.

If anyone has any tips on how to play silly games with a toddler while experiencing existential outrage at the lack of justice and humanity on display in Minneapolis, please let me know.

Callback for those of you who have been here for a year...

Bluesky has the juice. Every reason I was on Twitter is now here - live sports commentary (official app of sports), cringe and non-cringe current events takes, quality memes.

Insane that Miami has a chance to win here, given how one-sided this game has felt

3 months ago 0 0 0 0

The way they're letting Miami get away with these crazy holds is just insane.
Granted, it feels like if the holds were being called Indiana would be up by 14 instead of 3...

Gonna be honest here, feels like Herbert is in for a Matthew Stafford career - a decade getting slaughtered behind a garbage O line and slinging it to third string WRs with people debating if he's good or not. Then he'll get picked up by a real contender that just needs a QB and have instant success

Happy to report there's been some great stories about how much he values work-life balance! One of the reasons the program is so good is because he's been able to retain really good coordinators - they've been courted for HC jobs elsewhere but won't take them because Cig is such a great boss

Warm shower, listen to a boring podcast with your eyes closed, pray, read the Bible. My insomnia usually comes from racing thoughts/existential dread/can't shut my brain off, so take that for what it's worth. Also Unisom if you don't have to be super alert in the morning
