There is much better clarity after reading a chapter you’ve written where you can see its weaknesses and improve upon it. It’s part of the process to creating the story you’ve envisioned, don’t stress

It’s great working on a satirical story with a friend because you get to bounce ideas around to find the best jokes

It’s such a whiplash going between reading books written in British English and then American English.

It’s a strange feeling to write something completely different after finishing a book that you worked on for nearly a decade. It’s hard to really put it into words.

At least that’s encouraging. Most of the time they give rather neutral responses, like they don’t feel they could represent it well or it’s not quite the right fit.
Keep it up!

That’s good to hear! How are you going about it? Writing an outline or taking the garden approach where you see where the story takes you?

I definitely want to give this a read. I read a few pages of it in Waterstones and was deeply impressed.

It’s just a shame we don’t have the cool things from cyberpunk like flying cars, holograms and Johnny Silverhand.

Do you ever write a detailed outline of a story but later down the line you come up with an insane plot element and you have to either weave it into the current outline or write an entirely new one?

Fun stuff.

Trying to get a book published is a genuine nightmare. You either go through innumerable agents to find the right one for you (that’s if you’re lucky) or the rigmarole of self-publishing and spend £100’s or £1000’s in the process.

Wow I recommend it
