Finished another variegated experiment. Used the popular moss stitch to create blocks of color and variegated yarn. Topped it off with blue Pom-poms. Used Tosh DK and Bad Sheep DK Kennicott and Big Blue Next Thing. So much fun!

It was. How did it know how long my scarf was? :)
I was smiling as I crocheted.
Thanks!
Are you still at your same place? If not, text me your new address pls. I have something to send you in a few weeks. Mu-haha. Glad you have a good community. I imagine you are well loved. As you should be. I went on my first yarn crawl (9 yarn shops in the Portland area). So much fun!
Thank you!
It was a pleasure to crochet with this yarn. Think of you often too. Bluesky is the only place I post now.
The colors mesmerized me. Wonderful to work with!
Working on this #crochet scarf using Purple Haze from Berroco Gianna. Like crocheting with a cloud. Also wanted to see how a vareigated yarn reacts with long stripes. More colorful than I expected. And it creates stripes that are the same length as the scarf. How handy!
Thanks!
Finished #crocheting my pillow cover. Using up my Ultra Pima yarn, & using variegated yarn obtained on the Rose City Yarn Crawl—Serpentine Priestess (Ritual Dyes) and Malabrigo’s Rios Pisces Zodiac. Learning best uses of variegated yarn. I like the orange in the center, looks like it’s glowing.
Had a great time at Vancouver’s No Kings Rally. Met wonderful people. Didn’t know we’d be marching to the Columbia River. Glad I charged up my scooter the night before. Yes, that’s me wearing my Melt The Ice cap I crocheted, and my sign on the back sidewalk before the crowds came.
Headed out to the #NoKings rally in Vancouver in a few. Excited to be with my people to protest against the actions of a corrupt and lawless President.
Created a #crochet headband with Malabrigo’s Seis Cabos Indiecita yarn and Cascade Ultra Pima. A small project so I can learn the wily ways of variegated yarn. I’m such a matchy-matchy girl and it’s hard to break out of that.
Managed to do four Portland yarn stores today (Weird Sisters, Close Knit, Ritual Dyes, and Fiber Rhythm), and turned in my stamped passport. Here’s the last of my Rose City Yarn Crawl yarn. WooHoo!
I’m still smiling!
And I was just at the Hook and Needle yesterday! With this yarn crawl, it’s nice to meet yarn in person too (as opposed to ordering online). Happy trails to you.
Day 2 of the Rose City Yarn Crawl and here is my yarn haul for today. Visited Knotty Lamb (Forest Grove), For Yarn’s Sake (Beaverton), and Northwest Wools (Portland). Met so many nice ladies. Met so many nice yarns.
The 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl started today. Visited Hook and Needle (Vancouver) and Starlight Knitting Society (Portland). So much fun! Below is my haul for the day. Tomorrow I hit three more yarn stores.
Started #crocheting a Melt the Ice red hat. Hope to finish a few of these for the March 28th No Kings March. I see there is also a Stitch to Resist meeting for knitters and crocheters that I’ll be attending, www.mobilize.us/mobilize/eve...
Finished #weaving my scarf today. Added a twisted fringe that’s the same color as the warp.
Such a relaxing process!
Thank you! The yarn was a joy to weave.
Putting aside my crochet for awhile to #weave a new scarf. Using a nice purple, King’s Court (Eclipse Knits), for the warp, & Wild Blueberry (Bad Sheep Yarn) for the weft. Both yarns are superwash merino/nylon. Will be interesting to see how this turns out as I let Wild Blueberry do its thang.
Disappointed in the relatively tepid Dem response (with a few exceptions) to Trump’s lawlessness in blue cities. Not looking for an Obama Jesus. Just someone who can use their brains for Good.
Started another afghan without a single granny square. Using up all the cool color singletons. This one is for my daughter who is going through a rough time right now. Hope to finish by fall.
Needed to clear my mind this week after the big push to finish my square a week afghan and so have been #crocheting dishcloths. Love that you can finish in mere hours. Now to crochet a box or two to hold my yarn!
A project that caught my eye in May and finished today. Doing a square a week competed with doing a border. Learned several techniques I hadn’t run across. Expanded my crochet library. Recording the good and bad is hard. Two days to recoup artsy energy. 2025 you were a mixed bag. #crochet
Finished attaching the corners and borders on my afghan. Now comes the blocking and steaming the finished piece. Oh, the excitement!
This week’s #crochet square is the last square for this afghan: Thank You. It’s a pattern by Janie Crow/Crowfoot. Opened my eyes with her techniques, her color palette, amazing. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Now, onto finishing this up before New Years!
