We're hiring for a Senior Technical Game Designer on the Star Wars Jedi team to help us build player moments like set pieces, in-game cutscenes, skits, and more!
This is a full-time, 18-month contract role that is hybrid onsite to any EA office. More details here:

Xvid on the other hand...
Bit late for this considering I was 9 or so years old when I played Robocod: James Pond 2...
"trans people scare me more than WWIII"
This is so cool
It's 2026 and the Sega Megadrive is getting new bespoke hardware from a game industry legend
2001 is literally impossible to top but I'd love to see a series rather than a movie
Trust always did great entry level hardware, flimsy and cheap as fuck but also actually cheap, I still have a Trust Hotas that absolutely dominated the entry level market for years and years by being half the price of all the other competitors
Mine was this monstrosity from Trust, circa 2004 - 2005? until years later it stopped working and I got the very first wacom bamboo
Personally, I'd love to see an adaptation of the Riftwar novels or some other classic 80s fantasy books
As much as they're beloved fuck the Peter Jackson movies, just do a new adaptation of the books, don't call it a reboot. The problem is tourists are more attached to that than the books
Yeah I think this version of Doom would have sold fine, like Wolf 3d, but would have not reached the same industry changing popularity, it looks more in line with ultima underworld or System Shock
In early versions of Doom they had a really chunky hud that looked a bit like the inside of a helmet, always wondered if they got rid of that because they managed to improve performance or they just preferred a larger game window
I love looking at early versions of classic games, sometimes you can see the clear jump when a cool idea becomes a smash hit game. Execution matters almost more than the original game idea itself
Bluesky went through all the twitter phases real fast uh
This is not a good idea, buy indie games
loved this one as a kid
love it
you can also manually copy software/sideload stuff, there are games and apps on itch for example that are not on the store, including a nice gameboy emulator
Cheers, I will!
My favourite podcasts start like "Hello I'm Phil Salvador and today we have a researcher from MIT talking about the historycal importance of Glorbon, a punch card game for the ZapZap sewing machine and how it affected the textile industry"
Most games are short and cute and costs only a few bucks, they're perfectly sized for this tiny device, you can relax on your sofa for a bit, finish an entire game, think "that was quite cool" and move on to something different next time
I just checked and I own 79 games for my PlayDate, and I have another 30 or so in wishlist
A cute little PlayDate console
You know what's the best console to own right now? A platform full of exclusives? It's this thing
He could pay for the best translators in the entire world
That's not what he said, he doesn't want other translations because he doesn't understand the language so in his mind they can't be official, which is a really weird take but at least there are fan translations, it's not related to cost at all, he's a multi millionaire
This explains a lot of what's going on
Even more?
