2S at 50% on the skate ramp was pretty good fun 😆
3S at 100% on the neatly trimmed sports field was absolutely wild.
3S at 50% in a pipe (top of an enclosed slide) was an exciting brush with death.
Tempted to pick up another 2S battery for less spicy runtimes.

Okay the Arrma Mojave GROM BLX is incredible, it might be super small with low ground clearance but I couldn't find a surface it wasn't incredible on. Turns out there are some great spots locally.
A two panel meme showing a chiseled man sweating a choice between two red buttons. One’s marked “awesome RC car” and the other “really important work shit.”
Arriving in the post on probably the same day 😅
It was them or don’t get £££ so it was an easy choice 🤣
Feels like overbearing KYC adherence really makes them grating. I guess since they’re much more a business payment processor than PayPal ostensibly is.
I figured out the scale factor when I was messing with keyboard key fidget enclosures, but I'll be damned if I can remember how I did it.
Everything is heatable if you use it wrong enough!
Afaik only one person went yolo and ordered a Pinout deskmat, high res source art here - ko-fi.com/s/24cf080311
I'd drop my "macOS is just Linux for people with jobs" joke but I fear it might not land 😆
Apple hardware is just too damn good, though admittedly I could have made better decisions about which laptops to run Linux on. (Gaming laptops and StarLabs little 11" ones were two extreme ends of a spectrum I needed something in the middle of.)
OpenSCAD is my go-to if I want precision beyond eyeballing stuff in Blender and failing miserably to get the export scale right 😆
Blockbench looks promising, though it would be nice if it had a palette of primitives. Need to throw it on the Pi and see what happens.
you’ve gotta slip Oma Desala a twenty
People trying to sell me stuff I can do in three lines of Python is definitely another bugbear.
I humbly present to you the state of macOS software - boringbar.app
I’ve long since learned to run absolutely vanilla on whatever OS I use, but I’m a sucker for trying stuff like this ‘cos I’m so nose deep in Terminal dot app that the UI is just decoration.
They author migrated from Linux and decided to bring over their strong tradition of charging a subscription for menu bars…
Youngest is now snoring like a shambling ghoul and I don’t know what’s worse- the raspy distressingly laboured breathing or the intermittent periods of anxiety inducing silence.
I played it way more than I’d like to admit.
On both iOS and Steam 😬
It does seem to be distressingly common. Coupled with the weird chest discomfort I had been wondering if I’d accidentally mixed the wrong angry bathroom chemicals.
I wish I wasn’t such a hopeless hot mess and could use a tiling wm 😭
Windows scattered haphazardly to the four winds has worked for 30 years and I’m not about to change now 🤣
You couldn’t pry the “command line” from my cold dead hands.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
This is how Panic made their fortune iirc, I still have my receipt for Transmit from circa 2010 🤣
These days - after bouncing between macOS and Linux workstations a whole bunch and breaking any idea what software anything has - I just use Terminal/scp.
Linux: entire operating system and desktop environment is FOSS
macOS: here’s an app to replicate one tiny portion of Gnome and btw it’s $40
Must have seen me griping cos god damn they approved that paperwork fast 🤣
I’ve answered the same stupid business questionnaire about four times and my answers are slowly getting more terse and impatient.
This cough is definitely crossing the line into debilitating. Tried to run youngest around a pump track and had to stop for five minutes to cough like I’d just taken a bong hit from the exhaust of a 1940s tractor.
Keeps the rain off all my crap I suppose, and the kids from complaining (well somewhat.)
Jees Payoneer is fucking tedious
Thank you, I will check those out! Anything that runs on a Pi (or that I can compile to run on one) is also a bonus.
I was happy dragging sliders in Bryce or something back in the 90s, but middle child wants to "draw" things for 3D printing.
the only thing I've noticed change has been more and more popups trying to sell me some random shit that, as someone over forty, I don't even begin to understand.
Disappointed that TinkerCAD requires an account/login, fuck that noise. CaDoodle looks like an interesting alternative. Blender is perhaps a bit obtuse for a seven year old.
I’d take it- my house is built in the 1950s with not a shred of fashion in sight and there’s still bugger all storage 😭
