So Trump wants to read the Bible and he is reading a book from "The old Testament", the time before Jesus when the rule of law was eye for and eye, stone the sinner or those who wears mixed fabrics, just so he can use it as a weapon to rally his troops for the war.

Right, one MP gets asked to withdraw his statement, other gets shouted at and asked to leave. Same infraction, different handling.

Anonymity is being ripped away from the modern Internet by various govts and their age checks. I get why they want to do it, but not how they are doing it. Education is the key, not the gatekeeping.

A hundred years ago, the U.S. had a nationwide network of short-line railroads that connected most urban and rural communities. By the 1940s, most of it had been dismantled ... by the barons of the auto and oil industries. 😑

I agree with that. Software services are running the planned obsolence. Newer versions of the apps are designed with newer memory hungry libraries of which only a small function set is being used increasing the memory requirement on the hardware causing older ones to go obsolete.

Its companies vs govts. The EV transition mat seem like being driven by tax benefits, etc but it's driven by people who realise the benefits of driving an EV. Companies look for profits by reducing expenses. Some of them get 1, see the benefits and then change a major portion of their fleet.

Purpose of Travel document? What do you mean? Why I have the passport that I have or the visa that I have? You think they were distributing them for free like candies in the country I got on the plane from?

The EU now requires all Mobile Phones to be sold with easily replaceable and standardised batteries, as they used to be.

From 2027 they all will be again, in Europe.

Even in Europe we have plenty of electric articulated trucks and not just last my delivery vans. The shift is happening.

The DOJ is now 5 month in breach of releasing the Epstein files.

Holding these criminals accountable should be the Nuremberg of our time.

There is India with the Modi govt who enriches his friends Ambani and Adani, but thankfully they don't fuck up the world like Trump and if the media js to be believed UK seems to be heading down similar route with Reform, but we'll find out in the May local elections if UK population is as dumb.

The post reads: “This is what I told Reuters today: The UAE no longer needs America to defend it, as it has proven during the Iranian aggression that it is capable of defending itself with distinction. What the UAE needs is to acquire only the best and latest weapons that America has. Therefore, it is time to think about closing the American bases, as they are a burden and not a strategic asset.” The post is labeled “Translated from Arabic by Grok” and shows a timestamp of 10:21 AM · 4/19/26 with 139K views.

NEW: UAE scholar Abdulkhaleq Abdulla says the UAE no longer needs U.S. protection, calling American bases a “burden, not a strategic asset” and suggesting they should be closed. The United States’ standing in the region has been obliterated.

The funny thing is I actually own a rather old non smart TV that I recently shelved, not because it wasn't working, but because I got a free smart TV as part of work trials. So I'm aware the old TVs can last long, but I also understand how smart TV apps work since I work in that domain.

23 years? So 2003? Google TV first launched in 2010. 😂

I would have believed you if you hadn't said Google smart TV. Normal non-smart tVs used to last long as well because they do not have to catchup to newer memory and cpu intensive streaming applications.

In the book of Revelations, the church of Philadelphia is mentioned. When I first read this as a kid, I knew that's a name of a city in the USA and I was aware the city did not exist when the book was written, but I never figured where this city was. This week I finally checked. It's in Turkey.
