The ferry Gov. Cornwallis was destroyed by fire Dec 22, 1944. "Harbour fire boat pours water on blazing ferry which was towed to the centre of the harbour after it burst into flames at the Dartmouth ferry slip. Naval tugs & fire-fighting equipment were early on the scene."

The vessel John W. Miller was built by John McLean Shipyard, Mahone Bay, & Launched in 1918. The ship was used by J.C. Crosbie Ltd. of St. John's, NFLD, in the USA trade. The boat sank in heavy weather on Dec 30, 1931, but the crew was saved by a German vessel. Photo taken in 1917.

Friends gather to enjoy a lobster dinner in New Brunswick in 1964.

Note the Blue bird of happiness plate, Tupperware salt & pepper shaker encrusted in black pepper dust, a fancy green telephone in the back, and the best use for a pearl chocker. And I bet the lobster tasted great.

Maritime Express stalled on Folleigh Mt. (most likely Folly Mountain, Wentworth, NS), Feb.22-26, 1905.

This train was a prominent Canadian passenger train that operated between Halifax, NS, and Montreal, Qc. Launched on March 1, 1898, it was the flagship service of the Intercolonial Railway (ICR).

As the body of a deceased person was loaded into a waiting ambulance in the Rifle Range neighbourhood of the north end of Saint John, a huge crowd of children gathered around to watch. Because the death was deemed suspicious the police became involved. Late 1960s.
