A photo of Earth taken by the crew of Artemis II.
Born in fire, battered by the wreckage of colliding worlds, covered for eons in magma, wracked by volcanoes, frozen and thawed again and again, and after everything went just wrong and right enough, here it is: our home. The rarest gift in the known universe.
Happy Earth Day.

A bar chart published by the Globe and Mail, showing that the share of mortgages co-signed by a parent has jumped sharply from 2004 to 2025, in the five largest cities across Canada.
I saw this graph today, and I took this as a HUGE condemnation of Canadian banks. They are so risk averse that they won't write mortgages for the "average buyer" any more. They are forcing the average buyer to have a parent willing to co-sign, eliminating many homebuyers from the market.

'Thatβs insane,β People online are raising concerns over Doug Fordβs daughterβs 33% salary raise in one year - NOW Toronto
The latest edition of the Sunshine List is sparking online reaction after it revealed Premier Doug Fordβs staff salaries went up in 2025.
Ontario managed to yell at doug ford enough to get him to sell his grifted 'gravy plane' but have you tried complaining non-stop about some other greasy shifty things he does?

There have been incorrect reports on social media about Canada's position on the nomination of Iran to the United Nations Economic and Social Council Committee for Programme and Coordination - an advisory body with no decision-making role.

Iran was nominated as part of the Asia-Pacific Group. Canada is not a member of the group and did not endorse or vote for this nomination. There was no vote, as per established procedures.

Canada does not support Iran for positions of influence within the United Nations. We will continue to actively work with partners to counter Iranian candidacies.

You and I agree with each other. I believe it is that review you mention that will be drawn out until CUSMA is decided. I don't expect us to be ordering any more F35s after the initial 16 that we were committed to.

I hope some Canadians get a nice free lunch or dinner out of the meeting, before Mark Carney tells the Americans to get lost. I suspect this we will use the F35 as a bargaining chip, so won't hear a final decision on the Gripen until CUSMA talks this year.

Cover of Action Comics No. 1 dated June 1938. The title Action Comics appears in large red letters at the top. The central illustration shows Superman in a blue suit and red cape lifting a green car above his head and smashing it against a rock. Several men scatter in fear, with one crouching on the ground and another running away. In the foreground, a man in a suit clutches his head in shock. The background is a simple landscape with rocks and open ground.
On April 18, 1938, Action Comics #1 went on sale and featured the first appearance of Superman.
Canada played a significant role in the creation of the Man of Steel.
These are the Canadian connections to the creation of Superman.

A U.S. Commerce Department spokesperson said Lutnick's "they suck" comment referred to the trade imbalance between the two countries, not Canada's negotiation strategy.
"Secretary Lutnick, describing our unfair trade imbalance with Canada, explained how Canada sucks off of our $30T economy."

Newly introduced legislation in Ontario will abolish the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario, and absorbing into the ministry. This is another in a long line of decisions to destroy the autonomy of university in Ontario and place them under greater and more direct government control.
