A monochrome portrait of a woman wearing a pearl necklace.
I drew @mrspjhaverstock.bsky.social last night when I couldn't sleep. All set up for a new little painting!

I wish I had all of my old sketchbooks with me. Those things are troves absolutely full of ideas.
I need to do a big-ish painting. Something that has a bit of a presence on the wall. I'm also flailing for ideas as I've been trying to shift my entire way of thinking back to painting and illustration.
I am most definitely a figurative realist and I'm tired of pretending that I'm not.
I keep showing @mrsbarker.bsky.social my sketches and her comment is usually, "It looks cool! I have no idea what's going on, but it looks cool!" That just makes me smile.
I did a second sketch for my new series and it feels like it's missing something. Maybe because I put an orgy in the last one?
Trying to decide if I want to add an orgy to this new painting. I'm thinking... yes?
Now that I'm mostly settled I can begin to source big canvases for doing big paintings and when I tell you I'm EXTREMELY excited I'm still massively underselling it.
I'm putting together a "getting started with oil painting" list for folks that may want to venture down that path and apparently I have the most to say about paints in particular.
This doesn't really surprise me.
A monochromatic drawing of a woman dressed as a pirate. She's pulling open her shirt to expose her breasts.
Sketch for a small Anne Bonny paint that may serve as a sketch for a larger painting...
I'm already planning an oil-painting primer for absolute beginners, but... what if... I made a zine?
