ECS is now out, and I guess it's time to return to this playlist/ chapter title thread.
I bring you this Bollywood banger, in all it's glory.

A Facebook ad for a can of brine shrimp eggs.
I have no idea the direction the FB algo is taking me now but I’m 100% down.
Nothing better than watching a sparrow take a dust bath in the shadow of the birdbath I spent all that money on.
My eight year old just asked if Percy Jackson is urban fantasy or more portal fantasy, and I know I'm raising him right.
If you ever need inspiration, my roommates and I went as PeRocksyde to a Halloween party and completely committed to the bit.
A Kokedama pineapple, which is a pineapple plant top in a moss covered base such that it resembles a real pineapple.
It might be time to shut it down. I may have taken the medium to its natural conclusion.
I present to you Kokedama Pineapple!
I have lived here nigh 15 years and I think LAX has been under construction for all of them.
Under a title, "Uncommon Urban Fantasy," three books: Rites of Passage marked "free", Ghost Stations as "$.99" and Electric City Switches as "new" from April 17-21. Also available on Kindle Unlimited.
Go grab some new uncommon #urbanfantasy for less than the cost of a coffee. Or energy drink. Or whatever the youngs are drinking these days. Matcha?
Me, I'm drinking coffee. Black.

Ribs or brisket?
Then why do you love Sizzler?
When you gargle salt water, it's got to be from a coffee mug, right? Thems the rules?
I've got two of the four hanging on my office wall. Guess I got to get two more.
Always complete the set.
A roughly drawn map of a building on a white board with terribly illegible handwriting.
Back to this rough draft and one day I swear I won’t need a map for a story. But not this day.
And yes, it says “cocks” in the middle.
Yes.
Four days until this little urban fantasy mystical mystery goes live. If you like:
Bomb disposal with enchantments
Whip swords!
Multiple magic systems
Running A.L.F. jokes
Rockin' 90s soundtracks
...you should check out Electric City Switches

Watching my son play with my old GI Joes is surprisingly satisfying.
I’ve been keeping my wife abreast of this saga and she’s happy Diane has been returned. Also amused.
Pass. But hit me up when they ship the Milky Ways.
Damn did I love me some ska back in the 90s, Skankin' Pickle in particular. And it fits quite nicely for my chapter 13.
I've heard ska compared to the music a 12 hears when they get a second helping of motz sticks, but it's clearly stoned circus music.

I always think of Perfect Circle as Playschool Tool, but their name really works in this book about defusing enchanted circles as if they were bombs, hence chapter 11 being Orestes.
It's not their best song, but it's also not their worst.

A very long infographic about Urban Fantasy Names. The gist: there are four steps to create an urban fantasy name: 1) Common + Uncommon = add an uncommon name to a common one, 2) Occupation/ Trait = make one of those names an occupation or trait, 3) Double Down = combine points one and two, 4) Supporting Cast = use this template for supporting characters if not for your protagonist. There are several examples for each of these four points, as well as two grids so you can create your own urban fantasy name.
Urban Fantasy is easy once you know the rules.
My UF name will henceforth be Flint Bishop.
What's yours?
Tomax and Xamot.
Just saved a crow that was hopping down the street with its wings and tail caught in a glue trap.
I’m 67% sure it was a spirit in disguise and the bond we formed will lead to years of misadventures.
A scruffy white dog happily relaxing in the shade.
This is the look of complete lack of remorse after rolling in the corpse of a possum then chasing it down with ditch water.
This is the song that inspired the character Sheena, who is the driving force, MacGuffin for this story. Heard it on the radio and saw an aging punk rocker in my head, and thus she was born.
This is my favorite chapter (10), where they speak in pop music code.

I take pride that the nouns and verbs I (correctly) use confuses the hell out of autocorrect.
Could have been a hurdy gurdy (which the helpful auto correct changed to hurry guest).
Parent/ Kid expectations and troubles is why Chap 10 has this ol' Manic Street Preachers ditty. You know the one.
Never saw the video until today. My God, that's some 90s aesthetics right there.

Tina Urkle or Turkle for short.
That there's a chin you can get lost in. Or crushed by.
