A CRT monitor showing the Amiga Workbench desktop. The model in the lower left says AS 5S, but zoomed out, just looks like ASSS
I picked up a monitor last night, partially because I wanted a smaller CRT for my Amiga 4000, and partially because it looks like ASSS.

Happy 25th Birthday OS X iBook G3 Lime with OS X 10.0 installed
Happy 25th Birthday OS X!🥳🎉
At exactly midnight on March 24, 2001, Apple released Mac OS X 10.0 (Cheetah) in retail stores
What followed became history, and to this day I consider it the greatest OS ever built
This special day deserved a real party, and everyone showed up🥹

I still show the 12” PowerBook G4 as peak Apple for me. Light but crammed with every bit of functionality made it an incredible OS X laptop. I have a soft spot for the Pismo G3 as second place, the original BlackBook 13” as my third.

I love coming across machines that were loved. This obviously started as an original Mac with 128K, but then got a 512K board, 800k upgrade, and then a New Life SCSI and 4mb ram upgrade. This machine was used for at least ten years. #marchintosh

Unreal Tournament 2004 is now available for free.
...well, I mean, you probably could've grabbed a GOG offline installer out the back of a truck earlier, but NOW it's Official/Legally Free and has the in-development community patch packed in for ongoing support. www.oldunreal.com/downloads/ut...

An Apple Lisa computer, powered on, showing the Lisa 7/7 3.1 OS with a ProFile window open and showing application templates
An Apple Lisa 2/5 is now fully functional, except for a wonky keyboard that’s waiting for a foam and foil set from TexElec. I’ve wanted one of these since I was like ten. Words cannot express how stoked I am. #applelisa #retrocomputing

An Apple Lisa 2 (and probably Lisa 1) motherboard, cleaned up, but missing the slot for I/O.
It cleaned up fairly nicely, but the I/O slot lost pins after a light brush with a toothbrush. The slot came out, and a new replacement (as well as some resistor packs) arrives Tuesday.

A closeup of an Apple Lisa motherboard, tinged in green, with a heavily damaged slot in the foreground
Just an Apple Lisa 2 doing what a Lisa 2 does. #retrocomputing #apple #retrorepair

Two Apple Lisa computers stacked on one another, powered off as they are both broken.
Well, things just got interesting around here. #retrocomputing #apple

A green phosphor monitor displaying “Apple ][“ (Apple 2) on the top line
I wonder if the reason I don’t see as much Apple II content on YouTube is that most of them still work. #retrocomputing #apple

A memory test running on a Commodore Amiga 4000, showing 386mb of total memory
Well, thats just unnecessary.

A green screen monitor connected to a Commodore B128, displaying the directory listing of an attached disk
Fun fact for the, like, 5 of us with a #Commodore CBM-II machine – after trying the SD2PET Future and PetDisk Max V2, I plugged in a SDPET+ to the Commodore B128 today, and not only does CATALOG/DIRECTORY work, but I can actually consistently load software again and again. We have a keeper.

An Apple III computer displaying a menu interface called “Selector ///“
An Apple III computer displaying a Pac Man clone called “Sandman”
Finally got the Booti block storage device working on the Apple /// today, and this thing finally feels useful. I’m not sure what it says that it feels like the entire A3 library fits on like one 32mb volume, but that’s what I’m into. #apple #retrocomputing

My Neptune 3 has served me well as my first 3D printer, but I use it (and get frustrated) enough that I broke down and bought something nice - a Bambulab P1S with AMS. I'm pretty sure I'm in love (and broke). It's fast, no nonsense, built in camera, built in filament changes, and networked. Wild.

An IBM Model F keyboard from a 5155, keys covered in grime.
An IBM Model F keyboard from a 5155, significantly cleaner.
This is still my least favourite part of retro computing, but it sure is nice to type on a clan keyboard that doesn’t smell of cigarettes.

A close up of the VCFMW table map highlighting Z24, Z25, and Z26.
Hey, my friend and I are going to be at #VCFMW next weekend, September 13th and 14th in Schaumburg, IL! I won't have anything to exhibit, but we are selling some retro odds and ends from 8 to 32 bit. Come say hi, even if you aren't buying, at Z24, 25, and 26.

A circuit board with a LCD display and a ZIF socket and a chip installed in the ZIP socket. The display shows “Checking… Detected Type: 514402 1Mx4-SC”
Picked up a RAM tester on AmiBay, and this is so much better than the random assortment of Arduino hacks I used before this.

A SGI Indigo2 Impact on its right side, next to a lcd monitor, keyboard, and mouse. The screen and computer are powered up, and the IRIX desktop is displayed.
Work and home have been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to play. I went to boot my SGI Indigo2 and nothing. Turns out I forgot to secure one ribbon cable, and it was just loose enough to be a problem.
I should make more time.
